TLC has yet to announce a date or confirm if the Slaton sisters will be returning for more episodes. Amy did speak out about possibly taking a break from filming in February 2022, noting that she was not contractually obligated for the fourth season and was still waiting on word back from the network.

In an interview with The Sun, Amy said,

“I’ve been on the show for three years. At first, it was easy but now that I have Gage it’s like, he doesn’t want me out of his sight.

“I feel like I’m being a bad mom when I’m at work. He’s always at granny’s when we’re filming and stuff. I feel like I’m losing valuable time. I don’t really want to do another season because I’m pregnant, it’s just a lot. If they cut down my hours I’ll be probably fine. But last season I was working every day for weeks, plus renovating a house, plus Gage, plus Tammy, plus my mom. It was just a lot last year and I can’t do it.”

Of further filming, she said, “We don’t know, we’re waiting to hear back from the network.

“If they cut me down, and make it more about [sister] Tammy and [brother] Chris, I’ll be fine. Give me two days a week. It’s just a lot at the minute with Gage and being pregnant, I get tired now.”

Future episodes of 1000-Lb Sisters will reportedly feature Amy’s second pregnancy and parenthood experience, according to People, even though the network hasn’t confirmed or rejected the possibility of a fourth season.

Season 1 Started of such: Amy and Tammy Slaton, as well as Amy’s husband Michael Halterman, live together in the small town of Dixon, Kentucky. Amy prepares a meal for Tammy and herself that is packed with harmful ingredients. Due to her weight, Amy admits she has several illnesses, including diabetes. Tammy also admits that she has a number of medical issues, has been in the hospital frequently, and has twice been put on life support. To their mother Darlene’s dismay, the sisters tell her at lunch that they have decided to undertake weight-loss surgery.

Amy is recovering from a highly successful bariatric procedure when Season 2 opens. A few months later, she receives more encouraging news. Although Tammy and her husband Michael are thrilled to be expecting their first child, Tammy is very concerned for her sister. Amy had surgery not so long ago, and Tammy worries that her sister is still healing. The baby was everything Amy had hoped for, but the doctors had told her to wait at least two years before trying to get pregnant.

Tammy, who recently moved in next door to Amy and Michael, is dependent on them for all of her basic needs. They’re delighted to comply, but Amy fears that she won’t have much time to tend to Tammy’s needs with the baby on the way and hopes that Tammy can mature into an independent woman.

Tammy’s weight has changed since the season was filmed since she was under quarantine. Because Tammy’s weight gain indicates that she has reverted to past behaviors, this has Amy and her family in complete panic. Chris, the older brother of Amy and Tammy, decides to accompany her on her journey in an effort to gain approval for weight-loss surgery and to hold Tammy responsible. In an effort to inspire Tammy to shed some pounds and gain permission for surgery, Amy, Chris, and the family are working together.

Tammy’s romantic life will also play a role in this season. She just met Jerry in person once last year in Atlanta, but they are already deeply in love. Now that he’s agreed to go see her in Kentucky, Tammy is hoping that he’s prepared to further their romance. However, Jerry’s entrance has not been well received by Tammy’s siblings, who have negative opinions about their relationship. The family believes that Tammy’s love life is doomed since they know that they have only ever met once and that Jerry may ruin her weight reduction plans and prevent her from putting her health first, according to a news release from TLC.
