Animal Kingdom is an adventure-packed crime drama created by Jonathan Lisco. There are 5 seasons of the series till now with the next and last in line. There is a total of 62 episodes aired in the animal kingdom till now.
It first aired in 2016. And since then there is no going back. The 1st season was released in June 2016. The 2nd season was released in May 2017 3rd season in May 2018; 4th season in May 2019 and 5th season in July 2021.
The one-year gap occurred because of the pandemic, but soon after everything settled down, the season was released. However, all the wait was worth it.
The series is about teenage boy Finn Cole, who after the death of her mother moves back to his extended family, i.e. Cody’s family.
Cody’s, notorious criminal family is under the female alpha Smurf Cody. His grandmother, Smurf rules a criminal dynasty. The boy, after some time, sees himself involved, in dangerous crimes, violence, murder, and whatnot. At that moment his life began to change.
Animal Kingdom is a true story of a Melbourne-based criminal family. The head of the family was Kath Pettingill, who had 10 kids. The family was involved in many inhumane and deadly crimes. It gives a whole mafia vibe to me seriously!!
Animal Kingdom 6 Release Date
In January 2021, even before the premiere of Animal Kingdom Season 5, the renewal date for Season 6 was announced. Right after the finale of season 5, the teaser for season 6 of Animal Kingdom was released on October 8, 2021.
The trailer for the crime season will be released on June 2, 2022, along with a release date. The series’ last and final season will drop on June 19, 2022, at 9 pm ET and PT on TNT.
The season will be having 13 episodes, so likely the finale episode will air on August 28, 2022. Each episode with a run time of 45 to 55 minutes. There will be 2 episodes dropping back to back on premiere dates.
The shooting for the season started in March 2021 and wrapped in August 2021.
Animal Kingdom Season 6 Storyline
With the super-hit last 5 seasons, the crime family drama is moving to its last end. Unfortunately, season 6 will be the last and final episode of the Animal Kingdom series. There will be no more seasons of this.
In the last season, we see Pope, Craig, and J. deal with everything after the death of Smurf. It’s not easy to live without the elders of a family, and sure, enemies are proving it. The whole family tries their best to live with unity and overcome all challenges. After the death of the leader, many rivals wanted revenge.
Plus, the season shows some flashbacks of how Smurf raised the kids and built a whole empire. The season also shows the things the family did to prove themselves so they are now in this position. In the end, we see J and Deran become the new leaders of the family.
As the upcoming season will be the last season, more or less we will see everything going back to its place. All mysteries will be solved and the loose end goanna tied up. There is no way you can forget the past, but you have to deal with it.
The police find Catherine’s dead body (wife of Baz). In the first season, the pope ordered to kill Cath. Later, the weight of murder truly impacted him. Now, when both Baz and Pope are dead, this news will create some sparks and dangers in the family.

There is not much information disclosed about whether there will be any new characters in the season or not. For now, there is only confirmation about the original cast as they will be returning.
Also, Janie Smurf will not appear in action as she was dead in the last season. However, there will be a few flashbacks of her. Moreover, we will see some new characters. They will be playing for a younger version of the cast, like Pope or Julia, or none other than Young Baz.
Where to watch Animal Kingdom Season 6?
Animal Kingdom will originally be released on TNT. It will be available on the TNT website or app. But it’s preferred to download for a better experience. If you don’t have access to TNT, you have to wait a couple of months until it streams on other platforms.
Another option to watch the season is Amazon Prime Video. It has all the previous seasons of Animal Kingdom. Yet, you have to wait until Animal Kingdom is available on the website.
Apart from the USA, all five seasons are available on Netflix. It will also premiere season 6. However, the episode will appear one day after it will be released on TNT. Plus, if you have a subscription to YouTube TV, Sling TV, Hulu+ Live TV, and DirecTV streams, then you can also watch it live.
