The novel series is written by Doufu Mayoi and published by Shōsetsuka ni Narō on October 6, 2014. This marked the beginning of the different adaptations of the novel. In 2016, the light novel adaptation written by the same author and illustrated by Kurogin was published by Overlap. Two years after the release of the light novel, the manga adaptation illustrated by Gin Ammo was released on January 11, 2018, by Overlap.
Now, four years after the release of the manga series, the creators are back with Black Summoner Anime, the anime television series of the manga series. Black Summoner Anime is written and directed by Yoshimasa Hiraike. The anime is produced by Satelight and the music is by Michiru, and Yuri Miyazono. The anime is a hero-centric one. The anime begins with Kelvin, lying in an unfamiliar place. After waking up in a strange place, Kelvin feels completely blacked out. He couldn’t remember what happened to him last night, in fact, he couldn’t remember anything at all, not even who he is. He has no memory of anything, it’s just empty. Though he couldn’t understand what was happening around him. He gets the sudden urge to fight in his mind. He feels like his body can fight big forces.
The story takes an unusual turn when he realizes that he has actually exchanged his memory for powerful new abilities. He also realizes that he has fallen in love with an Angel follower previous to his memory loss. He starts his journey from that strange place and to his surprise he fights big monsters and defeats them. His surprising skills help him throughout the journey. The entire series shows Kelvin’s journey. How did he lose his memory? Did he get into an accident or did something traumatic happened? Most importantly, how did he even end up in a strange place? Will he be able to regain his memory?
