Blood and Water Season 3 unfurls with Fikile visiting the household of Khumalo with her father. She asks Mrs Khumala about the identity of her biological father. Though, she is not ready to talk about him. Meanwhile, Fiks and her father are also worried about Nwabisa, who’s been missing following the shocking events of the last season. Soon, another suspicion is levied on Fikile’s adoptive mother, and it’s that she staged her kidnapping.
Sam and her mother’s custody location is compromised, and they’re kidnapped by the accomplices of who everyone thinks has to be Nwabisa. Meanwhile, Lisbeth Molapo is freed as no concrete evidence against her is found — it’s all circumstantial at best and not enough to hold her in for questioning. Upon her return and freedom, the sisters become suspicious of her and begin their investigations against her. On a positive note, Siya enrolls in Pankhurst, which is immediately ruined a bit by some bullies.

The series’ story revolves around Puleng, whose character is played by Ama Qamata. Puleng is a high school girl whose sister Phume was kidnapped as part of a human trafficking network momentarily after birth. On the same day of Phume’s birthday, Puleng was invited to a party of Fikile Bhele, whose role is played by Khosi Ngema, a popular athlete studying at Parkhurst College, a popular and reputed school in Cape Town.
After Wade, a new acquaintance points out their resemblance, Puleng starts to suspect that Fikile is Phume.
