Bloodlands Season 2 is a BBC television series set in Northern Ireland that premiered on BBC One on February 21, 2021. Chris Brandon created it, and HTM Television, a collaboration between Hat Trick Productions and producer Jed Mercurio, developed it. The show was renewed for a second season on March 14, 2021, with filming set to begin in February 2022.

That aired in 2021, attracting 8.2 million viewers. The thriller, which is set in Northern Ireland, is back for a second season.

Fans couldn’t get enough of Bloodlands Season 1 last year, which starred James Nesbitt as tormented detective DCI Tom Brannick. They found themselves on the edge of their seats as a twisted cat-and-mouse game ensued, with Brannick seemingly more determined than the mice ever seeking retribution for Goliath’s past crimes. Still, the story had a huge twist, and the crime drama is now back for a second season.

DCI Tom Brannick (James Nesbitt) and the accountant’s widow, Olivia Foyle (Victoria Smurfit), must hold each other dangerously near when the murder of a crooked accountant unravels, and a trail of greed threatens to expose his identity as the legendary assassin, Goliath. As they attempt to crack the puzzle her husband left behind, Tom and Olivia draw in Tom’s fellow officers DS Niamh McGovern (Charlene McKenna), DCS Jackie Twomey (Lorcan Cranitch), and DC “Birdy” Bird (Chris Walley), as well as Tom’s daughter, Izzy (Lola Petticrew), and become more and more immersed in the puzzle of each other until deception and betrayal force Tom too.

DCI Tom Brannick (Nesbitt) was called to investigate after a car was pulled from the river at Strangford Lough. Brannick tells senior officer Jackie Twomey (Fortitude’s Lorcan Cranitch) that he fears the legendary serial killer — codenamed Goliath — has returned as a postcard depicting Belfast’s iconic Samson and Goliath cranes is discovered hidden in the wing mirror. It is then revealed that Brannick’s wife, Emma, was one of Goliath’s victims.

What followed was an odd cat-and-mouse game in which Brannick seemed more determined than ever to seek justice for Goliath’s past crimes. However, the final episode had a major plot twist when viewers discovered Brannick WAS Goliath!

When the murder of a crooked accountant reveals a trail of greed that threatens to expose his identity as the legendary assassin, Goliath, DCI Tom Brannick (Nesbitt) and the accountant’s widow, Olivia Foyle (Victoria Smurfit), must keep a dangerously close relationship.

As they try to solve the riddle her husband left behind and become increasingly engrossed in each other’s puzzle, Brannick and Olivia enlist the help of his fellow officers DS Niamh McGovern, DCS Jackie Twomey, and DC ‘Birdy’ Bird. as well as Brannick’s daughter, Izzy, until deception and betrayal force Brannick to question how far he will go to preserve his legacy.
