The series ‘Briarpatch’ begins with Felicity Dill getting murdered by a car explosion. Her sister Allegra Dill, an investigator who works for an ambitious senator, moves to Texas to take up the case of her sister’s murder.

She discovers a lot of truth about the town during the investigation. She also discovers that her sister was engaged to a married officer, and she had a large sum of money which Allegra Dill thinks is the main cause of the murder.

Allegra Dill was assigned to work with the local Chief of Police, Eve Raytek and her childhood friend Jake Spivey, whose boss or dealer is wanted by Allegra’s senator boss.

Jake Spivey was a millionaire who earned money through dealing with weapons like guns. Also, the series showed a lot of wild animals being escaped from a local zoo. The rest of the season reveals how Allegra finds out the secrets behind her sister’s death and how it is linked to the corrupt activities of the town.

The finale of Briarpatch was a rollercoaster of events! A Lot of things got unveiled in the last episode of the series. We end up knowing Gene was the one who bombed Felicity’s car.

The final episode begins with Gene Colder stealing a drink by breaking a vending machine, and Allegra and A.D show their recording to Jake. Allegra wanted to use the recording for the case and plans to give Brattle the tape. She asks Jake to visit Eve and convey a message, but Jake reveals all of Allegra’s plans to Eve. Meanwhile, A.D. hears an original recording of Felicity when he meets Lucretia in prison.

Raytek, Colder, Clyde Brattle, Jake Spivey, and Allegra Dill meet in a warehouse. Gene shoots Brattle in the chest and tells Allegra about Felicity, but Gene gets shot by Jake. Gene calls for Eve. Eve shows up and admits to being the one who killed Calvin Strucker and used Felicity to catch Brattle, and she shoots Gene in the head. Allegra finds out all the truth and walks away, telling both Jake and Eve are in the wrong as they use Felicity.

Jake and Eve fight for the important recording tape. Eve ends up getting the tape from Jake and goes to her car. But she finds out that Colder left a bomb inside a can in her car. Allegra decides to quit and leave the town. While she leaves her apartment, she gets choked by Sydney in the hallway.

Suddenly, a tiger that escaped from the zoo in the series’ premiere shows up and ponces on Sydney, giving access to Allegra to escape. The tiger ended up being the show stealer of the finale!

Before leaving the town, Allegra goes to her family home, where she meets Jake. It is revealed that it was Jake whom Felicity called for help, and since Jake didn’t want to get involved, he told Eve about it, which caused all the issues. Jake threatens Allegra with a gun to return the tape, but Allegra walks away, ignoring him.
