An American Western buddy movie from 1969 called Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was helmed by George Roy Hill and penned by William Goldman. The movie, largely based on reality, follows the tale of Wild West outlaws Butch Cassidy and Harry Longabaugh, often known as the “Sundance Kid,” who is on the run from a tough US posse following a series of rail robberies. Previously, Metcalf collaborated with Amazon on the American version of the British television series “Utopia.” Additionally, he created the Showtime limited series “The Loudest Voice” about Roger Ailes, the head of Fox News. In addition to this, he has worked on the TV shows “Sharp Objects,” “Mercy Street,” “Kingdom,” and “UnReal.”
Metcalf’s representatives include UTA, Grandview, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole. The two real-life American Old West outlaws, Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid, were most notably portrayed by Paul Newman and Robert Redford in the film Butch and the Sundance Kid, released in 1969. The American Film Institute named the movie one of the best American productions ever created, and it is regarded as a masterpiece.
