Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities is an anthology horror series. It is directed by Guillermo Del Toro and will be premiered on Netflix. The executive producers of the series are J. Milles Dale, Gray Unger alongside Guillermo Del Toro. The series is produced under Exile Entertainment.
Cabinet of Curiosities will comprise eight small horror stories, each different from the other. The narrative of these scary tales will be quite contradictory to the classical one. Each of the episodes will be unexpectedly dreadful and revolutionary.
Guillermo Del Toro will introduce all of the stories. However, he wrote two of the stories. And pick another writer to help him direct other episodes. All of the selected writers are Oscar-winning filmmakers. And these are their own personally curated stories.
In the beginning, the series was named “Guillermo Del Toro Presents 10 After Midnight” but later on it changed to “Cabinet of Curiosities”.
Cabinet of Curiosities Release Date
Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, October 25, 2022. The series will feature eight unique horror stories. The series will release in 4 days with double episodes per day.
Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities is specifically a piece from Netflix & Chills Halloween Event. All the episodes of the series will finally be available on Friday, October 28, 2022, just around Halloween.
Netflix originally announced the release of the series in 2018. Even though production for the series started in 2019 but filming kicks off in 2021. It was reported that the shooting began on June 28, 2021, and ended on February 16, 2022. The shooting of the whole series is done in Toronto, Canada.
Cabinet of Curiosities Storyline
Cabinet of Curiosities is an anthology series of 8 sets of episodes. Each episode is written by a different selected director who has a unique horror tale under their production. Every new episode will bring a scary and twisted nightmare for you.
The synopsis for the expected episodes has not been announced. But Netflix released the title, director-writer, and cast member of each episode. Here is the list:
- “Lot 36”– It is directed by Guillermo Navarro, and the story is by Del Toro. It features Tim Blake Nelson, Sebastian Roche, and others.
- “Graveyard Rats”– It is directed by Vincenzo Natali and based on a short story by Henry Kuttner. It features David Hewlett and others.
- “The Outside”– It is directed by Ana Lily Amirpour and based on a short story by Emily Carroll. It stars Martins, Kate Micucci, and others.
- “The Autopsy”– It is directed by David Prior and based on a short story by Michael Shea. The episode features Luke Robert, F. Murray Abraham, and other prominent actors.
- “Pickerman’s Model”– It is directed by Keith Thomas and based on a short story by H. P. Lovecraft. The story features Crispin Glovers, Ben Barnes, and others.
- “Dreams in the Witch House”– It is directed by Catherine Hardwicke and based on a short story by H. P. Lovecraft. The episodes feature Rupert Grint, Gaby Moreno, and some others.
- “The Murmuring”– It is directed by Jennifer Kent and the story is by Del Toro. It features Essie Davis, Andrew Lincoln, and others.
- “The Viewing”– It is directed by Panos Cosmatos and a story by Cosmatos and Aaron Stewart-Ahn. It stars Eric Andre, Peter Weller, and others.
The trailer for Cabinet of Curiosities has already been released on September 30, 2022. It gives us a glimpse of those chilling stories to shake us. Besides, we see Guillermo’s character as a Rod Serling-esque host.

The anthology series will exclusively be released on Netflix. The first two sets of episodes will be available right at midnight PT on October 25, 2022. The upcoming episodes premiering two at a time for the next 3 days back to back.
