A kind-hearted and knowledgeable young man named Tanjiro Kamado lives in the highlands with his family. After his father passed away, he took over the role of family provider by traveling to the surrounding hamlet to sell charcoal. Everything changed when he returned home one day to find that a monster had attacked and killed his family.

Tanjiro participates in a difficult exam after two years of arduous training and is one of the few people to pass, making him a member of the Demon Slayer Corps. Alongside Nezuko, who has been brainwashed to cause no damage to humanity and who occasionally aids him in fight, he starts his mission of tracking out and killing demons.

Tanjiro visits Asakusa as part of one of his jobs and runs across Muzan Kibutsuji, the father of all demons and the one who slaughtered his family. He also encounters Tamayo, a demon who is unconstrained by Muzan. Tamayo joins forces with Tanjiro and starts working on a treatment for Nezuko; however, Tanjiro will need to give her blood from the Twelve Kizuki, the most poweful demon under Muzan’s command.

Kagaya foresees Muzan’s plans and implements a stringent training schedule for the whole Corps in order to get them ready for the impending war. Tamayo creates a serum to heal Nezuko using the blood samples she collected from the Kizuki, who is then separated from the fighting while she heals. Soon after Kagaya sees Muzan, he launches a suicide attempt to knock him out.

After Muzan is ambushed by the Hashira and Tanjiro, he imprisons everyone inside Infinity Castle, an unending maze that is home to the Kizuki. Muzan is held in check by Tamayo using a poison she created, leaving him open to assault. The Corps defeats the remaining Kizuki members in order to get to him, but not before suffering severe casualties themselves. Muzan absorbs Tamayo to kill her, but the Corps forces Muzan to come to the surface.

The Corps are disbanded following the conflict since Muzan’s death essentially annihilated all other demons. Zenitsu, and Inosuke follow Tanjiro and Nezuko back to their family house.

The descendants and reincarnations of the Corps members live tranquil, demon-free lives in the present epilogue.

What Should We Expect From Demon Slayer Season 3?

It has been announced that Demon Slayer Season 3 story would focus on the Swordsmith Village arc, the ninth arc of the manga’s initial publication.

It should be noted that the Demon Slayer manga officially ended in 2020, giving anime viewers a rare opportunity to learn (approximately) what the future holds for Tanjiro and the crew.

The Entertainment District arc, which finished with Tanjiro and Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui destroying the demon twins Gyutaro and Daki, serves as the prelude to the Swordsmith Village storyline.

Fortunately, Tanjiro’s demon-slaying sword was the sole everlasting victim of this epic combat.

Tanjiro will visit the Swordsmith Village in Demon Slayer season three to have Hotaru Haganezuka fix his sword.

Of course, a swarm of demons will attack Tanjiro and his friends while they are there (including an Upper-Rank Six that splits themselves across multiple bodies). Fortunately, Mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito, intervenes to take care of the thread.
