Detroiters is an American comedy series that is filmed in Detroit. It stars native Michiganders Sam Richardson and Tim Robinson. The series was premiered on the 7th of February 2017. It was aired on comedy central but on the 11th of December comedy central canceled the show. The series currently has a total of 2 seasons with 10 episodes each.
The story centers around Sam and Tim who are two local admen who make low-budget commercials in Detroit, Michigan. The two of them are best friends and aspire to achieve great things in life.
Detroiters Season 2 Plot
In Season 2 it’s seen that Cramblin hits a hot streak after which Sam and Tim help Sheila find a lawyer. Later a little bit of tension builds between Sam and Tim when Sam acts in one of their commercials. Sam Sam becomes the grill master at the Duvet family reunion and Tim feels that he has been a bit too hard on Sam’s girlfriends.
Tim’s mom is successful at convincing him to give his brother a job at Cramblin Duvet and we also get to see an unexpected bond between Sam and Chrissy. Sam and his ex-girlfriend re-record an old jingle as it causes friction in his new relationship. The entire story goes along as Sam and Tim decide to play dirty because Doner starts stealing their clients.
Detroiters Season 3 Renewal Status and Release Date
Detroiters got canceled at Comedy Central but there are chances that they might find a new streaming channel for the series. Detroiters was one of the most loved series on comedy central for almost two long years but unfortunately, it won’t be returning for a season 3. This series co-star Sam Richardson went out on Twitter and said that The series may not be completely finished, but new episodes won’t be coming to Comedy Central in the new year.
He tweeted that “Sadly, @Detroiters won’t be picked up for a season 3 at Comedy Central, I want to thank everyone who watched and supported the show. It was a dream to make and I’m proud that those who did see it enjoyed it. Maybe it will find a home elsewhere, who knows? But truly, thank you.”
It is sad enough that the Detroiters did not return for a brand new season but for now, all we can do is hope and enjoy watching the previous two seasons. Maybe they might return soon who knows? so keep watching and enjoying the previous two seasons.
