The first season follows teenager Mae entering a hospital in Ohio with an inverted pentagram visible on her back. Psychiatrist Dr. Suzanne Mathis is instantly interested in it and decides to take the girl to her home and find a foster family. However, it is revealed that Mae ran away from a devil-worshiping cult and authorities have been investigating the cult for a long time. But they could not continue after restrictions from religious freedom issues and the country’s sheriff. On the other hand, Mae’s presence brings a lot of other problems to the Mathis family.

Filming for the series began in Canada and Vancouver on September 8, 2021, ending on December 13 of the same year.
