He attends Totsuki Saryo Culinary Institute, a prominent culinary institute where students compete in cooking competitions.
And he isn’t simply fond of cooking; he is utterly devoted to it with every fibre of his being. Like, he didn’t just enjoy cooking as a pastime or anything; it was much more to him.
For him, it was like a burning desire. And this devotion of his was not limited to the activity of cooking. Serving people with dedication, pushing himself to go above and beyond to deliver the best tasting dish he can.
This distinguishes him from other chefs his age, and many people who try his dishes can’t help but fall in love with it. Souma’s passion in cooking stemmed primarily from his experience assisting his father in operating the family restaurant.
We’ve watched Soma hone his abilities and make his mark in the culinary industry throughout the series.
Food Wars season 5 ending

Why will Food Wars not return for a new season?
Season 5 of Food Wars obfuscated the show’s plot. As a result, the show’s creators were forced to cancel the series.
The show’s last season aired between April and September of 2020. In addition, the manga series’ authentic collection has been discontinued. This could possibly be one of the cancelled preseason.
The anime shows are completely reliant on the source material and will continue to deliver stories as long as that material is available. Once the manga has completed the plot, the creators must do the same for their series.
So the main reason for no Food Wars season 6 renewal announcement is a shortage of source material, and the adaptation would not earn as much as they require.
