On November 8, 2020, a docu-series based on the serial titled By Whatever Means Necessary: The Times of Godfather of Harlem debuted.

Harlem’s Godfather relates the narrative to a true story of famed crime leader Bumpy Johnson, who returned from 10 years in jail in the early 1960s to find the area he previously dominated in devastation. Bumpy must confront the Genovese crime family in order to reclaim control of the streets from the Italian mafia. During the savage conflict, he establishes an alliance with Muslim pastor Malcolm X, putting Malcolm’s political ascension in the crosshairs of social unrest and a mob war that threatens to rip the city apart.

Bumpy Johnson, a mafia lord played by actor John Goodman, returns to Harlem after ten years in jail to find that the neighborhood has changed.

As a result, he is striving to restore control of the territory, which has now fallen into the hands of the Italian mafia. His actions set in motion an unpredictable series of events that threatens to destroy the whole city. The show is said to be a precursor to the 2007 picture ‘American Gangster,’ which was released in cinemas.

The detailed design of Bumpy was picked out for admiration by the critics. Several commentators, on the other hand, have raised worry about the usually cluttered plotlines.

Regardless of the program’s drawbacks, there is no disputing that it is a fun show to watch. Fans, predictably, are eager to learn whether or not there will be a third season.
