Hold Tight on Netflix is a new series based on a Harlan Coben novel. This one has six episodes and a few familiar characters from another Netflix adaptation return. Revolving around the crime, thriller, and mystery genres it highlights issues like parental control, drug abuse, and bullying. Coben’s signature style of taking the audience down an intrinsic and scintillating path before bombarding a sudden twist is seen here as well.
Hold Tight Season 3 Plot
The basic genre of Hold Tight remains crime and drama, but the show gives more emphasis on familiar everyday issues like the prying and obsessive controlling of parents towards their children via spyware on their smartphones and curbing their independence. It highlights the toxic side of extreme parental control and eventually, kids feel misunderstood or abandoned.
As the show starts it kicks off the episode with an eerie and daunting aura. There is a dead school kid and the environment keeps radiating that something worse shall continue to happen. To top it all off, Adam’s mother tracks her son’s whereabouts and reads his text, invading his private space and showing the toxic side of how a mother has no faith or sense of space for her son.
The more Anna tries to get control over her son or get closer to her the more she drifts far from it and he keeps slipping away from her. Everyone comes up with a new coverup and Anna feels everyone is hiding something from her. What starts as a simple story of an overprotective and worried mother and her depressed son soon takes the outlook of a conspiration and scheming nightmare. Each episode moves with a lot of twists and turns it gets maddening but also convoluted at the same time.

The core cast includes Magdalena Boczarska as Anna Barczyk Leszek Lichota as Michal Barczyk and Krzysztof Oleksyn as Adam Barczyk.
The show also stars Agnieszka Grochowska as Laura Goldsztajn, Grzegorz Damiecki as Pawel Kopinski Justyna Wasilewska as Wiera, Wiktoria Gorodecka as Beata, Agata Labno as Kaja, Jacek Poniedzialek as Natan, Mikolaj Sliwa as Gajos, Marta Pietka as Nika and Jakub Pruski as Blazej.
Hold tight season 2 Renewal Status Update
As of now even though Hold Tight has been receiving overall positive reviews, it is not likely for it to return with another season. Harlan Coben is currently working on several projects, and we may see him return to Netflix shortly via a new mini-series or film. The show has successfully accomplished its goal of covering the entirety of the novel it has been based on and it was also announced as a mini-series upon its release which further amplifies the fact that it is meant to be a limited series.
Sometimes because of fan-power and demand of the people, limited series do make an exception and get a renewal but the chances of the same for Hold Tight still seem very bleak.
