Ryn has the ability to transform into a human when she exits the water. She has piercing eyes and pointed facial features and in her siren form, she has a long grey tail, webbed fingers, and sharp teeth. The sirens shown in the series Siren physically do not resemble the actual Sirens of Greek mythology. The sirens depicted in ancient Greek Mythology had the legs and wings of a bird, not the tail of a fish. It is unlikely that sirens exist. Thus, the characters and creatures of the series “Siren” are completely fictional and imaginary.

This show takes place in the town of Bristol Cove. This town has a long history of interest in mermaids as this town is known for its legend of once being home to merpeople since the 1800s. You might be wondering if Bristol Cove is a real place. Unfortunately, Bristol Cove is not a real town.

The main lead Alex Roe, who plays Ben in the series, confirmed Bristol Cove is a fictional town. In an interview with Bustle, he mentions “It’s a made-up town, I’m sure there’s a town like it. It kind of reminds me of Cornwall in England, but yeah in Cornwall it’s sort of more centered around witchcraft whereas Bristol Cove is this made-up town centered all around legends of mermaids.”

Thus the entire plotline of the series “Siren” is completely imaginary and not based on true events. The series premiered on Freeform on March 29, 2018. With an amazing cast and storyline, Siren is one of the must-watch series. It won over the hearts of mermaid and fantasy lovers but was unfortunately canceled after three seasons due to low ratings.
