Imagine being in a world where humans can co-exist with a variety of large and dangerous monsters. You cannot even imagine that can you?
Monster Hunter is a movie based on such an idea. Monster Hunter 2 would be a sequel to the movie. It is a monster film written, directed, and produced by Paul W. S. Anderson in the year 2020. The movie is based on a video game series also called Monster Hunter by Capcom. The lead star of the movie is Milla Jovovich and this movie was the fifth time for her to work with Anderson as a director.
The film follows the footsteps of the protagonist named Artemis whose security team goes missing. It shows how she gets stuck in a new world and how she manages to escape it without getting killed, it also tells us about how she finds a way to end all of this.
The film was nominated at the 19th Visual Effects Society Awards, in the category of Outstanding Effects Simulations in a Photoreal Feature. The film grossed over $44 million worldwide against a production budget of $60 million.

Monster Hunter Plot Summary And Recap
The story of the movie revolves around the protagonist, Natalie Artemis who is an Army Ranger captain on Earth, and how her team goes missing and she finds them dead in a new world. In the new world, humans can coexist with a wide variety of large and savage monsters. The other protagonist of the movie is a Hunter, who is trained to hunt and kill these powerful creatures in the new world but is separated from his team when the ship is attacked by a monster itself.
When Artemis and the rest of the team are searching for the missing soldiers a storm pulls them into a portal to the new world. They find the remains of the missing soldiers and their vehicles there. The hunter observes the whole group from a distance and when a monster comes near them he fires a warning signal which leads the monster to kill two members of their team.
All the remaining survivors of the team hide in a cave where they’re attacked by a pack of monster-sized spiders. Artemis is injected with the spider venom and passes out. When Artemis wakes up she finds herself in the layer of the monstrous spiders with all of her teammates either dead or injected with venom but she manages to escape it by setting the monsters on fire. While running out she comes across the hunter and ends up fighting each other but agrees to cooperate later.
Artemis is told that the portals are created by the Sky Tower which is just located across the desert. The hunter claims that they would need to kill the Diablos, the monster who attacked the hunter’s ship to get across the desert and reach the tower. Artemis learns how to fight the monster using the hunter’s unique bladed weapons. They set up a trap for the monster which ends up working and the attack is successful but the hunter is badly wounded Artemis helps him out by constructing a stretcher for him and carrying him across the desert.
When Artemis and the hunter reach the Oasis they come across several tortoise-like dinosaurs who start running and stampeding when a fire-breathing Wyvern flies by them. They both are rescued by a group led by the Admiral who explains to them that the sky tower was built by the first civilization to travel between the worlds.
Artemis decides to kill the fire-breathing Wyvern named Rathalos so that she can get back home. While fighting the monster Artemis falls through the portal back to the earth, her world but the portal does not close in time and Rathalos emerges through it and begins creating havoc.
Although the hunter slips through the portal and delivers the fatal shot that kills the monster after which the Admirals Dell Artemis that as long as the portal remains open there will always be the threat that monsters will keep coming to earth through it. Another flying monster, a black dragon known as Gore Magala shows up after that and Artemis concludes that she has to find a way to take down the sky tower to protect the earth.
Monster Hunter 2 Release Date and Expected Plot
Monster Hunter 1 was released in theaters during the pandemic by Sony Pictures on December 3, 2020, in the Netherlands, December 4, 2020, in China, December 18, 2020, in the United States, and March 26th, 2021 in Japan. At present, the movie sits at a rating of 5.2 out of 10 on IMDb. If we talk about Monster Hunter 2 the release date of the same is not out yet. We don’t know if the movie is going to be renewed for a sequel or not. Although we are hoping for the best and keeping our fingers crossed.
We expect the second sequel of the movie to bring more adventures and monsters with it. We hope that the character of Artemis is much more fierce than in the first movie. We are also expecting the revelation of how Natalie and the hunter manage to destroy the sky tower and the intensity of the whole situation.
