‘Moriarty The Patriot Musical’ is the musical adaptation of the popular Japanese anime Moriarty The Patriot. ‘Moriarty The Patriot’ is a Japanese crime and mystery-filled manga series based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes series. It is written by Ryōsuke Takeuchi and illustrated by Hikaru Miyoshi. It has 17 volumes in total and was issued in Jump Square magazine in 2016. The manga series also has an anime adaptation.

The final episode of the anime was released on June 27, 2021. The musical adaptation ‘Moriarty The Patriot Musical’ was released after the release of each season. Each one was titled, ‘Moriarty The Patriot Musical’ followed by Parts 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Moriarty The Patriot Plot Summary
The story centers on William James Moriarty, who is a detective consultant whose main occupation is to solve peoples’ problems. The story sets in the 19th century when the British Empire has become a global power. The strict class discrimination has made it more difficult for the average citizen to rise up to the top. With the despicable noble class people ruling over them, it is an impossible task for the average class people to rise up to their potential. Alfred Moriarty, an ordinary citizen, adopts two orphans named William James and Louis James. Soon, he realizes that the three share a common interest: the trio hates the corrupted British Empire.
William James considers and calls himself a crime consultant. They prepare a solid plan to kill Alfred’s cruel blood brother, William, by burning down their family estate. They kill him and start a new life together and aim to destroy the class system which has plagued the country for centuries. Not only that, but they use all the illegal means to do it. Once, when they were planning to kill a high-class noble who was hunting the commoners, he meets Sherlock.
Sherlock deduces a third person’s hand in the murder. Sherlock’s ability attracts William James, and he starts getting interested in Sherlock. He gets more curious to test Sherlock’s ability. Sherlock’s admirable skill annoys William James, so he decides to frame Sherlock for murdering a count in order to test his abilities. The story gets more exciting when Sherlock finds his clever way to escape from this murder.

The friar part of the Morimyu as a musical adaptation was held in Tokyo from May 10, 2019, to May 19, 2019, at the Galaxy Theatre. Later in Osaka at Kashiwara Civil Culture Hall on May 25, 2019, and May 26, 2019. The arcs covered are The One Grapefruit Pie, The “Noahtic”, and A Study in “S”. The show was held in Tokyo at Shinagawa Prince Hotel Stellar Ball from August 5, 2021, to August 15, 2021. Later in Osaka at Sankei Hall Breeze from August 19, 2021, to August 2022, 2021. The arcs covered are The Phantom of Whitechapel, The Riot in New Scotland Yard, and The Adventure of One Student.
The fourth musical adaptation, ‘Moriarty The Patriot Musical Part 4’. It is the most awaited show for all anime lovers. The shows will be held from January 27, 2023, to January 29, 2023, in Osaka at Shinkabukiza and also in The Galaxy Theatre from February 2, 2023, to February 12, 2023.
