In the season 1 finale, Futaba gets high marks from the chief for her presentation. Even though she has much to be grateful for, the protagonist isn’t sure how she feels about her senpai. Meanwhile, she discovers he has secured a deal with an important client. Takeda’s final presentation is scheduled for the day. Futaba is overjoyed for him, but he can’t make it due to a family emergency. Takeda’s mentee works up the nerve to approach her coworkers and request permission to do it on his behalf.
The chief’s approval is what finally convinces him to let her leave. Futaba gives a convincing speech, ensuring the deal for her senpai. Despite all the compliments, the protagonist feels envious when she returns to the office and sees the girls swarming Takeda. She avoids the office party. As a result, she is opting instead to have a few drinks alone and confront her concerns. Inexplicably, Takeda tracks her down and decides to keep her company. Before returning home, Futaba’s senpai assures her that she will always have a friend in her.
Even though Futaba and Takeda have become close and care for each other in Season 2, they have not yet spoken frankly about how they feel about are other. They’ve been friends for a long time, yet they still can’t bring themselves to take the next step in their relationship. Fortunately, Touko is not perplexed and does not try to hide her feelings for Souta. The forthcoming episode will centre on these two pairings, although both characters are expected to make permanent commitments.
