While Season 1 ended its adventure by determining who murdered Tim Kono (Julian Cihi), it left viewers with the greatest suspense by discovering that his death was not the only slaughter in the building. Bunny (Jayne Houdyshell), the trio’s crabby neighbor, is now deceased, and Mabel seems to have murder on her hands—which she has, as she was the one who discovered the remains.
While we anticipate Only Murders in the Building season 2, here’s everything we know about this masterpiece of a show as of now. Hulu has renewed the murder-mystery-podcast comedy for a second season if you’re a fan.

About Only Murders in the Building Season 2
The series depicts three individuals who share a passion for real crime and discover themselves entangled in one. When one horrible tragedy occurs within their expensive Upper West Side apartment building, the three assume murder and use their in-depth understanding of real crime to unravel the mystery.
On August 31, 2021, the 10 first season episodes were launched on Hulu. The plot revolves around three three neighbours that decide to launch a podcast regarding their inquiry into the incident, which was deemed a suicide by the authorities.
The series gained widespread acclaim, with special appreciation for its comic approach to crime fiction and the chemistry between the principal actors. Hulu revived the show for a second season in September 2021.
“There has been something about this project that felt almost fated from the start; from Dan’s first lunch with Steve in which Steve happened to mention he had an idea for a series, to John jumping aboard to co-create it, to Steve’s agreeing to star but only if Marty joined him, to the inspired addition of Selena,” said 20th Television president Karey Burke.
“The comedy this team delivered has been the obsession of every executive at this studio, and our friends at Hulu have treated it like the crown jewel that it is. And now, thanks to the incredible audience response, we are so happy to say there will be more murders in the building — which is great news for everyone, except perhaps the residents of the Arconia,” Burke continued.
Only Murders in the Building Season 2 Release Date
The season 2 filming is underway, and as the final episode teased, the show will probably return this fall.
Executive producer John Hoffman said at the announcement: “Everyone in our amazing ‘Building’ worked with such love and expertise through extraordinary times – and with incredible support from Disney, Hulu and 20th TV – to create a first season that might live up to our legendary cast, our beloved New York City, and to make a show about connection.
“To feel we’ve connected with our audience and hit the mark enough already to have the chance to continue – and to carry on our show’s wild ride of mystery-comedy-empathy – is too exciting for words. So I’ll shut up now – and just say a huge thanks to all and I can’t wait for more!”
Only Murders in the Building Season 2 Cast
While no cast list has been revealed, it is obvious that the trio will be there, that is, Steve Martin (who plays Charles-Haden Savage), Martin Short (Oliver Putnam) and Selena Gomez (Mabel Mora).
Here’s what Selena Gomez says: “It’s cool because personally in my life, since I started season one to doing season two, I changed so much. I know that it’s a small amount of time, but I think it kind of carried on into [her character] Mabel. If anything, there’s just more of a sophistication to her. Her style gets better. She’s like super cool. I cut my hair. So it’s a whole fresh start for Mabel.”
Showrunner John Hoffman revealed that Tina Fey would return as true-crime podcast magnate Cinda Canning, and that Teddy (Nathan Lane) and Theo Dimas (James Caverly), who are in jeopardy for murdering Zoe (Olivia Reis) and framing Oscar for it, will also return.
Important Update – Only Murders in the Building Season 2
Bunny, who was killed in the Season 1 finale, will return. Hoffman, who assured Jane Houdyshell, who plays the irritable Upper West Sider, that being a casualty “doesn’t mean [she’s] not going to be in the show.” Anticipate more than a few Bunny memories to get to the root of her death, as Tim Kono did.
