American director, actor, writer, and producer Noah Harpster and American producer, director, and screenwriter Micah Fitzerman-Blue created for Netflix a brand new American drama limited series which is also written by Fitzerman-Blue. Harpster and Fitzerman-Blue are also the executive producers of the series, and Chris Hatcher serves as producer. The show is inspired by a New Yorker article by Patrick Radden Keefe.

The series will take material from the book titled Pain Killer: An Empire of Deceit and the Origins of America’s Opioid Epidemic by Barry Meier.
