Remember Motley Crew? Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson will never be old news. I’m not sure about the rest of you but they live in my head at all times. Pop culture’s bringing back the 90s, and we’ve got no complaints there- and it only makes sense that this Tommy and Pam biography found its way to the screens.
On May 7, Hulu disclosed an initial look at the biographical drama series of this iconic couple, Pam and Tommy, with Lily James and Sebastian Stan playing them. Unbelievably enough, these two pass off for the scandalous couple pretty well.
What is Pam and Tommy About?
In 8 episodes, you see biographical drama, black comedy, crime, and romance, all mixed up and all focused on what brought on the sex tape and what came after. Here’s a quick brush up: the spontaneous couple, to say the least, got married after 96 hours of knowing one another, and gave birth to two sons in ’96 and ’97, and then got divorced. Lee was imprisoned for spousal battery.
The show covers the sex tape scandal. The tape was made on their honeymoon and was illegally distributed, and after a lawsuit against Internet Entertainment Group, the suit was ultimately settled. The show covers everything before the incident and then quietly leads up to the messy marriage and the chaotic breakup.
A disastrous, confusing love story with a catastrophic end. That is what Pam and Tommy is about.

Pam and Tommy – What is the Talk in Town?
I suppose it comes as no surprise that the couple Tommy and Pamela are in no way affiliated with the project; in fact, they only nodded their heads in disapproval as the project moved forward. Pamela’s friend, Courtney Love expressed her rage about the same via a Facebook post.
She began by saying, “I find this so fucking outrageous,” and continued, “When Pam / Tommy sex tape was out / myself @pattyschemel @xmadmx were making a record. And the lone women in many recording studios in LA. Where all / ALL! The staff engineers/producers/owners / were watching the sex tape with huge schadenfreude.. Guffaws, It was disgusting. I banned anyone from discussing it.. It destroyed my friend Pamelas life. Utterly.”
She also discussed how she declined permission for using her photographs. “Last week I was asked to approve using a Rolling Stone cover of mine/shot by Mark Seliger in this piece of shit/ That they had approved. I said ‘f*ck no.’ shocked. Gentleman don’t approve this sort of thing. My heart goes out to Pammy ♥♥ further causing her complex trauma. And shame on Lily James whoever the fuck she is. #vile.”
The post was later deleted, but to say she disapproves would probably be an understatement.
Moving on to positive statements, Lily James shared photos on Instagram, stating the well-known Anderson quote “It’s great to be blonde. With low expectations, it’s very easy to surprise people.”
Stan posted a picture too, quoting Tommy Lee, “We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.”
So, there it is. Everything we know about Pam and Tommy, coming soon on Hulu!
