Parasyte Season 2 Release Date, Cast, and Updates

There have been four years since the highly acclaimed Parasyte anime first aired. And for now, fans are still eager to witness Parasyte Season 2. When the creators debuted the anime adaptation of the thirty-year-old historical manga series, the fans were ecstatic.

From 1988 until 1995, the Morning Open Zkan and Monthly Afternoon magazines of Kodansha published Hitoshi Iwaaki’s science fiction and horror manga serial Parasyte. In Japan, two live-action versions of the manga were released in 2014 and 2015. Between October 2014 and March 2015, Madhouse’s Parasyte -the maxim- anime television series adaptation aired in Japan. Between October 2015 and April 2016, the English-language dub aired on Adult Swim’s Toonami programming block in the US.

Both the 1993 Kodansha Manga Award for the general category and the 1996 Seiun Award for best manga went to Parasyte. The manga had over 24 million copies in circulation as of December 2020.

Unfortunately, it’s been too long since Parasyte season 2, and we have to assume it has ended.

The shortage of supply materials is the main reason why the second season was canceled. There are only ten volumes and sixty-one chapters in the manga for this series. Additionally, the Madhouse Studio previously utilized each of them throughout its main season. As a result, they currently have nothing to change for Parasyte Season 2. Sadly, Hitoshi Iwaaki has stopped pushing the manga narrative after giving it a satisfying conclusion.

The sole need is that Madhouse Studio or any other animation company select a sequence and a real narrative. If it does, they will have to start from scratch and write a fresh story before continuing with the first season. The chances of Parasyte Season 2 happening are therefore slim.

A bidding conflict in Japan resulted from New Line Cinema’s option expiring in 2013. After winning the rights, the film company and distributor Toho made the decision to turn the manga into a two-part live-action film series under the direction of Takashi Yamazaki. Parasyte: Part 1 was made available for purchase beginning in November 2014. Here is the trailer for the same.

The manga stops there, with the conclusion of season 1, however, if you want to see additional material linked to this, you may see the live-action films Parasyte and Parasyte 2, which were released in 2014 and 2015 respectively. Parasyte’s film rights were bought by Hollywood’s New Line Cinema in 2005, and a movie adaptation was said to be in the works with Don Murphy and Jim Henson Studios purportedly in charge of production. Parasyte: Part 2 was released in 2015. Here’s the trailer.

The main character in Parasyte is a male high school student named Shinichi Izumi, who is 17 years old and lives with his parents in a peaceful area of Fukuyama, Hiroshima, Japan. One night, small worm-like aliens with drill-like heads known as parasites land on Earth and invade into their victims’ ears or nostrils to take over their brains. One parasite tries to enter Shinichi’s body through his nose as he sleeps, but is unsuccessful when Shinichi awakens and instead burrows into his arm. It replaces his right hand in the Japanese version and is given the moniker Migi, which is derived from the Japanese word for “right.”

Both individuals still have their distinct minds and identities since Shinichi was able to stop Migi from moving farther up into his brain. As the pair comes across other Parasites, they take advantage of their particular circumstance and develop a close friendship while cooperating to live. Due to the fact that Shinichi’s human brain is still intact, other Parasites regularly attack the duo, giving them an advantage in their fight. Shinichi feels motivated to combat other Parasites while enlisting Migi’s assistance since they consume other members of the species they infect as nourishment.

The show examines psychological and philosophical issues such as what it is to be human, how we interact with our environment and other animals, the importance of instinct and love, and the intrinsic anthropocentrism of morality.

While Migi and Reiko Tamura’s encounters with humans lead to them assuming more human attributes, such as love and sacrifice, Shinichi’s encounter with Migi makes him wonder if mankind has any right to assert moral superiority over the Parasites. Iwaaki decided on a high school scenario because of a scene in his head. Iwaaki thought that the moment in which Migi transforms into a penis in front of Satomi Murano would work best in a high school context, therefore he gave Parasyte a high school setting.

Keep in mind that the Chinese Ministry of Culture banned 38 anime and manga series in mainland China on June 12, 2015, including Parasyte. However, a 125-minute special edit of the live-action version of Parasyte, which condensed parts 1 and 2, was able to be distributed in countrywide cinemas in mainland China.
