Physical is an American dark comedy series directed by Annie Weisman and co-produced by Craig Gillespie, Liza Johnson, Stephanie Laing, Alexandra Cunningham, Marty Adelstein, and Becky Clements for Apple TV. The series is made under the production of Paraxox High Kick Productions, Nutmegger, Inc., Fabrication, and Tomorrow Studios.
Physical is a story about quite a tortured housewife, Sheila Rubin. Behind those happy smiles, Sheila is having a battle with herself where she wants to realize her true identity. However, things changed when aerobics came into her life as a key to a new journey and success.
Season 1 of the series drops in June 2021, which holds an approval rating of 68% and an average rating of 6.8/10. The show was very well received by the audience and critics.

Physical Season 2 Release Date
Physical Season 2 will be released on June 3rd, 2022. The news was shared through a social media handle.
It will be a 10-episode season, so most probably the last episode will air on August 5th, 2022. Each episode’s running time will range from 25 to 40 minutes, and it will air every Friday of the upcoming week. One thing is for sure, we can count on the show for our summers.
The filming for the 2nd season started in November 2021 and was predicted to end in March 2022. Michelle Lee, the director of Domestic programming states about the show;

Physical Season 2 Storyline
Physical is a TV series that depicts the time of the 1980s, in San Diego. The story follows the life of Sheila Rubin, who is on a journey to discover her true identity. Sheila, an unlucky housewife struggling through her marriage life explores aerobics as a way to find her power.
Season 1 ended with a lot of mysteries. From Bunny’s financial issues to Tyler’s health, Danny’s campaign, and Sheila’s aerobic work, we didn’t get to know the outcome of all that.
So season 2 might probably revolve around this and give us satisfactory answers to all these conflicts. Finally, we can have peace.
Here is the official synopsis released by Apple TV+ for the physical season 2;
“In the second season, our hero Sheila Rubin (Byrne) successfully launched her first fitness video only to encounter some new and bigger obstacles in her path. She is torn between loyalty to her husband (Scovel) and the values he represents and a dangerous attraction to someone else. And since she’s no longer the only game in town, she finds herself having to outrun some fierce new competitors on the road to building a full-fledged fitness empire.”
Apple TV+ will release the trailer for the show on May 2, 2022. It gives a little sneak into the upcoming season. Sheila is enjoying her new fame, which comes along with her super hit video “Body By Sheila”. She wants to capitalize on this fame to make her brand.
For this, she had to attend different sorts of parties and during which she meets Vinnie, who is an owner of her small brand and a fitness pioneer like her. Sheila starts getting close to Vinnie to learn a thing, a thing or two from him.
But what’s the problem with all this? Her marriage is getting at risk. There would be a lot of double games, secrets revealed, and of course plenty of aerobics in season 2.

Physical Season 2 Cast
A good storyline is important, but the cast acting puts life into the story. Luckily, the series had an amazing cast that did a superb job as they were successful in capturing the attention of viewers.
It is expected that in physical season 2 most of the main cast members and the supporting cast will be coming back on our screens. The main cast includes;
- Rose Byrne plays Sheila Rubin
- Rory Scovel plays Danny Rubin, Sheila’s husband
- Paul Sparks plays John Breem, a mall owner.
- Della Saba plays Bunny Kazam, an aerobics instructor by profession and girlfriend to Tyler.
- Lou Taylor Pucci plays Tyler, a surfer by profession and Bunny’s boyfriend.
- Dierdre Friel plays Greta Hauser, a housewife, and Ernie’s wife.
- Geoffrey Arend plays Jerry Goldman, the old friend of Sheila and Danny, who later on becomes Danny’s campaign manager.
- Ashley Liao plays Simone.
The supporting cast members include;
- Ian Gomez plays Ernie Hauser, a tech expert, and Greta’s husband.
- Erin Pineda plays Maria Breem, John’s wife
- Grace Kelly Quigley plays Maya Rubin, daughter of Sheila and Danny.
- Wallace Langham plays Auggie Cartwright.
Season 2 will be having some of the new characters.
- Murray Bartlett will play Vinnie Green, an aerobics instructor.
- Anna Gunn will play Marika Green, Vinnie’s wife
- Tawny Newsome will play Wanda.
- Donny Divanian will play Kevin Cartwright, Auggie’s son.
- Emjay Anthony will play Zeke Breem, John and Maria’s son (for season 2, as in season 1 the role was portrayed by Ian Ousley).
There is no further information disclosed regarding any other new character or replacement of any character. We have to wait for the season’s arrival to know all this.
