About the Movie – Pippa
Raja Krishna Menon, through Pippa, creates an image that revolves around patriotism. It is about the life of Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta of the 45th Cavalry tank squadron.
The scene is set in the Indo-Pakistan war and Brigadier, who fought on the eastern front along with his siblings. Pippa is a Bollywood biography on Mehta’s life. The movie follows the steps of Mehta at a young age as well as India, both of who rose above themselves and took a stand in a war that was meant to liberate a country that was not their own.
It stars Ishaan Khattar, Mrunal Thakur, Priyanshu Painyuli, and soni Razdan.
Pippa is based on a book titled “The Burning Chaffees” written by Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta himself. The movie highlights Brigadier Mehta’s bravery, resilience, and fearlessness.
The movie genre, as expected, stands at patriotic and period.
Pippa portrays how India, for the first time in history, infiltrated enemy land, and in doing so, led to the liberation and formation of Bangladesh. When will Pippa be Released?
Pippa’s release date was announced on 16 December, the 50th anniversary of Vijay Diwas by Screwvala’s RSVP and Kapur’s Roy Kapur Films. Ishaan Khattar, Mrunal Thakur, and Priyanshi Painyulli will hit the big screen on December 9, 2022. The Tweet posted by them stated, “On the 50th anniversary of #VijayDiwas, we salute the bravery of the Indian soldiers who fought to liberate Bangladesh #1971 #PIPPA releasing in cinemas on 9th Dec 2022.” Behold and await a wave of patriotism and emotion!
Pippa Cast and Crew
Ishaan Khattar is included in the primary cast. Previously known for fantastic roles played by him in Beyond the Clouds, Dhadak, and A Suitable Boy, he will be playing the lead in Pippa. Sharing stills from Pippa, he wrote “Blood sweat and tears. In the midst of the shoot and it’s already one of my best filming experiences so far. Mrunal Thakur also stars in the movie. Predominantly occurring in Hindi and Marathi films, she was featured in Super 30, Batla House, and Toofaan. It is an honour to be part of a film that depicts an Indian victory by making it personal. Oscar-winning maestro, A. R. Rahman will be the production director for the upcoming movie Pippa. Rahman has previously collaborated with Ronnie and Siddharth to produce iconic albums such as Rang De Basanti, Swades, and Jodhaa Akbar, to name a few. About Pippa, Rahman says, “The story of Pippa has a very human connect. It’s about every family, and I instantly related to it. I am looking forward to working with Raja Krishna Menon, Ronnie Screwvala, and Siddharth Roy Kapur.”
While specific information is yet unannounced, it is known that lyricist Shailender Joshi will also be working on Pippa.
