Project Greenlight: A New Generation TV Series is a spin-off of the 2001 documentary series Project Greenlight, which ran for four seasons. For the first time, the Project Greenlight season 1: A New Generation docuseries will feature only female directors and provide an inside look at the whole filmmaking process, from conception to completion.

The show raises many questions: What is its true goal, to demonstrate effective Hollywood mentorship or to create a “great film” to boost the companies involved? Is it to guide new, marginalized people onto a career path or to make it appear impossible for ordinary people to achieve? Is it to further mystify the filmmaking process and push away people who face class, social, physical, ethnic, racial, and neurological barriers? It’s difficult to see somebody from a minority background or with serious life responsibilities meeting the standards and live-to-grind ethic portrayed in PG: A New Generation. Even people with a lot of money don’t fit in here.
