The lead character Mo Fan is a high school boy and he enters a world where magic is frequently used by people. The eligible students are also taught the art of magic and they fight off the beasts wandering inside the forest. His father is a laborer and he also has a sister who is crippled. Although Mo Fan manages to get admission to the school, people start to spread rumors about his poverty and inability to perform magic. The other students start joking about him and he soon possesses a fire element alongside a lightning element.
Coming to the fifth season, Mo Fan is presumed to be dead and when his friend Zhang Xiaohou hears about Fan being spotted in a few places, he embarks on a journey to find Fan. Fan along with Zhang and Li Man finish off a huge lizard whose soul can wear off the side effects of the devil’s powers. Fan and his stepsister spend more time with each other and when Fan asks his teacher Tang Yue about a snake he spotted in the buildings, Yue takes him to her home after which Fan agrees to assist her in protecting the snake.
The White Eagle demon unleashes havoc in a Western fortress and a plague is spread throughout Song City. The fan is also aiming to find a cure for the disease along with an antidote.
