The Japanese light novel Re: Life on a different planet from zero was written by Tappei Nagatsuki and drawn by Shin’ichir Tsuka. Subaru Natsuki, a hikikomori who is abruptly thrust into a different world while returning from the convenience shop, is the narrative’s main character. Starting in January 2012, the series was published on the website Shsetsuka ni Nar. Media Factory’s MF Bunko J label has released thirty light novels, five side story volumes, and seven short story collections.

The first three arcs of the show have each been turned into their manga series. Daichi Matsue’s first was released between June 2014 and March 2015. Since October 2014, Square Enix has begun dispersing the second, written by Makoto Fugetsu. In May 2015, Matsue released the third adaption, which Media Factory likewise distributed. Additionally, two anthology manga containing stories by various authors were published by Media Factory.

Starting with an hour-long special, White Fox produced an anime television series that ran from April to September 2016. Two OVAs based on the series were released, the first in October 2018 and the second in November 2019. March 2017 saw the release of 5pb. Based on the series, a visual novel was published. Re: Zero Season 3 Release Date

We have bittersweet news for all of our Re: Zero lovers.

Which one do you want to eat first? Okay, so it’s a lousy one. The bad news is that Season 3’s release date has not yet been officially announced. The second season premiered this year, so it would be ridiculous to anticipate a sequel so immediately.

Anime typically takes its time discussing its sequel since the original’s popularity is a crucial aspect.

Months after its prequel aired, not even absolute hits like Attack On Titan or My Hero Academia had a sequel confirmed. Therefore, it’s not an issue. You might counter that it’s still negative news given how frequently anime sequel announcements have been making headlines lately. Still, hey, that’s not yet a pattern. It does, but not often. Let’s look at the good news now that the terrible news is out of the way. An announcement but not a notification is the good news. I’ll explain. You see, producer Sho Tanaka was the subject of an interview on Crunchyroll in 2020.

Sho Tanaka made an intriguing remark during the interview. “I’m convinced that once you’ve done watching this one (season 2), you’ll all be begging for a third season,” he remarked.

The Re: Zero producers have exhibited a favorable attitude toward our cherished series. It comes from an official, even if it isn’t an official announcement. And a significant one at that. They aren’t messing around, these men. Even the thought of an anime sequel is stimulating in and of itself. KonoSuba had a similar circumstance, after all. One of the authorities had a constructive attitude, and now there is a sequel. Identical to how Re: Zero may receive a second season based on Sho Tanaka’s assertion.

We have an official statement from one of the people out there, but there are no official announcements or release dates. Sales, profitability, and source material are all elements that might influence whether an anime will return to television.

Let’s now talk about Re: Zero’s source material. As you are all aware, the light novel Re: Zero is based on was written by Nagatsuki Tappei and drawn by Ootsuka Shinichirou. The series’s plot hasn’t reached a definitive end. This news is fantastic since more narrative content translates into more seasons.

There are 28 volumes in the entire series, out of which the first season focused on roughly the first nine volumes. In contrast, the second season focused on books nine through fifteen. Nine light novel volumes were adapted for the first season and five for the second. On average, Re: Zero needs about seven volumes every season, which means there’s enough source material.

Re: Zero Season 3 Cast
  • Subaru- is a protagonist who seems to have no limits to fearlessness. His brave behavior has made him go from the weakest to the strongest, and his life in this new world has just started. The following season will have more of his idiocy filled with heroism.
  • Emilia- Our beautiful Emilia tan is bound to reappear in the next season. As discussed earlier, the previous season might follow the Royal Selection, so there’s an extremely high chance that Emilia will have more screen time in Season 3.
  • Rem- Although she had no spotlight in the previous season, there’s a good chance the next season might focus on her reawakening. She has been a fan favorite since season one, and abandoning her midway would disturb many fans. So she will be returning in the next season as well.
  • Beatrice- Beatrice was one of the most remarkable characters from the past season. Our cute loli did get her fair share of screen time in seasons 1 and 2, but part 2 specifically focused on her. Her reappearance in the next season would give birth to more exposition of her character and her relationship with Subaru.

Other characters like Ram, Roswaal, Petra, Fredrica, Garfiel, Otto, et cetera also have fair chances to return in the next season. The story might not be heavily focused on them, and they would still be present.
