Fans around the globe are waiting for Resident Evil Season 2 to come out. What is Resident Evil? Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is the name for the first season and just as the name suggests it is evil and dark. Resident Evil is a show based on video games that goes by the same name, made by Capcom.
Resident Evil is made by Hiroyuki Kobayashi. It is a dramatic, horror, animated series. Resident Evil Infinite Darkness had four episodes in total but still, it was finished with no thread hanging behind. Even then it is a very less number of episodes for the fans of the show and so naturally, fans are waiting for the next season.
Resident Evil is about zombies and action. There are a number of jump scares along the way. And so naturally, there is an age limit to the people who can watch this show. This show, even after being an animated series is very horrifying, gory, violent, and realistic. The animations look super advanced. So it’s natural to anticipate Resident Evil Season 2.
Resident Evil Season 2 Release Date
Resident Evil Infinite Darkness was released in January 2021. There is a piece of good news and a bad one for the fans out there. Netflix has not officially canceled Resident Evil Season 2. There might be a second season on the way but the chances look bleak. The first season did not receive such a good review and Netflix mostly scrapes off shows that don’t do good.
However, the good news is that on July 15, 2022, Netflix is releasing a live-action version of the Resident Evil story trope. It is going to have new characters and a new storyline with the same zombie action and horror. A new teaser has just been released which you can watch.
This does not mean that the hope for the second season is completely lost. We have no official announcements about this from Kobayashi or Netflix or Capcom still one can hope for the official announcement by the time 2022 ends.
Resident Evil Season 2 Plot
We have no current information regarding what Season 2 will hold for us. The new show which is releasing this July has a totally different plot. The story in that live-action is about a new virus. It is called a joy virus. The new AI and a new character is a teddy bear that looks cuddly and dangerous at the same time.
The show portrays politics, and crime as well as horror in this new part. Resident Evil Season 2 could have been made. Even if it was going to be made it can be predicted that Netflix was going to write a whole new story and scrape off the old one. Fans however are not taking the new teaser that well. They wanted a more original story from the games, but Netflix created a whole new plot.
Still, the fans are divided into two groups, one who is desperately waiting for the new series to drop and one who has already declared the new show as a waste of time and fandom. Resident Evil Infinite Darkness followed the storyline of a federal agent by the name of Leon S. Kennedy. He is the main character of the series. And we are pretty sure if Resident Evil Season 2 is made, it is going to follow his story.

Resident Evil Season 1 Recap
The story of the first season starts at an NGO in Penamstan. Claire discovers signs of Raccoon City which was believed to be lost. Leon makes his move to the white house, to tell them about the same. But he is shocked and mortified to know that it is under attack. The horror scenes are so scary in the first episode itself that a lot of people get genuinely scared. The zombies look hyper-realistic and then we unwrap that this is not a simple episode but an apocalypse.
The series then continues to the second episode. Leon goes to Shanghai on an undercover and highly dangerous mission to infiltrate a research facility there. He is accompanied by Jason and Shen May who are also federal agents like Leon. They are on a nuclear submarine. The way and the mission were not easy ones, it was horrifying to see our favorite characters struggle so much to make their way. The mission gets successful in the end and nobody dies.
In the third episode, things start to get out of hand. Most of the Mad Dogs unit is dying but Claire gets to the home of one of the last surviving people of the Mad Dogs Unit. She discovers a horror scene in front of her. The grim scene that Claire witnesses are nerve-wracking and ominous. Shen May warns Leon about a dangerous conspiracy that might be at play here.
Even though the series had only four episodes, the finale was magnificent. It was packed with twists and action. Secretary Wilson threatens Claire’s life, demanding that she drop her investigation. Leon and Shen May rush to the vast subterranean bioweapons lab. The politics and power portrayed comment on the real life of humans while adding spice to this story. We are damn sure Resident Evil Season 2 is going to be even more action-packed and horror.
