Rhythm and Flow Season 2 Release Date, Story, Cast, and More

‘Rhythm + Flow,’ Netflix’s first attempt at talent-based music competitions, is an ambitious three-week event that has been dubbed “rap’s American Idol” and the streaming service’s “answer to X Factor.” The flashy, star-studded program is yet another in the long list of reality competition shows that also include “Dancing with the Stars,” “The Masked Singer,” and “The Voice.” Hip-hop is a popular but underrepresented musical style on television, according to “Rhythm + Flow.”

Season 1 of “Rhythm + Flow” debuted on Netflix on October 9. It didn’t have a simultaneous release of all its episodes, unlike other Netflix Originals. Three weeks made up the airing schedule. The four-episode first part, which covered auditions, was released on October 9. The second installment, consisting of three episodes from “Rhythm + Flow” season 1 episodes 5, 6, and 7, which featured rap battles, music videos, and feature ciphers, was released on October 16, 2019. On October 23, 2019, the show’s final three episodes featuring collaborations and samples came to an end. Ten different hour-long episodes make up the entire first season.

When it comes to releasing its original content, the streaming giant takes a very different tack than this. The title, though risky and experimental, has a lot of potential thanks to an A-Lister jury and a special idea. That is why, despite the fact that Netflix has not yet made an official announcement, we think the show will return in 2019. If renewed, the premiere of “Rhythm and Flow” season 2 is anticipated to take place in October 2020.

As Netflix’s first foray into talent competition television, “Rhythm + Flow” aims to serve as a comeback alternative to “X Factor,” “The Voice,” and “American Idol.” Hip-hop is at its core, and it follows Cardi B, Chance the Rapper, and Tip ‘T.I.’ Harris as they look for the best rap artists in the nation and undiscovered artists. The group searches the streets of Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York City for the most talented singers who have what it takes to finally break through.

Comparing “Rhythm + Flow” to other shows of a similar nature reveals its distinct edge and individuality. In search of the ideal, undiscovered, and underground hip-hop superstar, it peruses all the hoods, studios, nightclubs, and even barbershops (if necessary). To produce the one and only rare gem, authenticity, wise guidance, and slow grooming are essential.

The first week of this Netflix Original is devoted to auditioning rounds held in four cities, including Los Angeles and each of the judges’ hometowns, including Chicago (Chance), Atlanta (T.I. ), and New York (Cardi B). In front of a crowd, and with immediate feedback from the judges, the auditions are held in local clubs.

The second week consists of a number of challenge rounds designed to eliminate the top 30 contestants by forcing them to take part in the production of music videos and musical performances. Contestants only participate in the ciphers in front of the jury. Following the selection of the top candidates, each one has the chance to present their unique musical tastes, life stories, and creative talents. The judges give them advice on how to tailor their performances to satisfy the needs of the modern, music-savvy audience.

Singer-songwriter Cardi B already has extensive experience judging/hosting reality shows like “Love & Hip Hop: New York,” “Saturday Night Live,” and “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” “Rhythm + Flow” has a judging panel that includes T.I., Chance The Rapper, and Cardi B.

Even T.I is familiar with reality television. Snoop Dogg also makes an appearance as a guest star in addition to the three judges. Chance claims that the goal of “Rhythm + Flow” is to highlight those who are “unsigned, dedicated, and ready.” She is seeking “that diamond in the rough,” according to Cardi B. “I’m looking for someone that when I’m going to my car I’m going to remember their music, I’m going to remember their face, I’m going to remember their personality,” she continued. We want to locate and learn about you.

All the judges will be back if the show returns for a second season.
