Scary Movie is a name that fills the mind of every millennial with awe and nostalgia. If you’re here reading this there’s a high likelihood that you screamed and laughed at the goofiness of this slasher teen horror-comedy directed by an American actor, comedian, and filmmaker Keenen Ivory Wayans(Scary Movie 1 and 2), David Zucker(part 3 and 4), Malcolm D. Lee(part 5)
We believe that cinephiles of all sorts can rally around one simple fact: the Scary Movie franchise, which has parodied all of our favorite horror films since the very first film’s release two decades ago, is the greatest cultural accomplishment that humanity has ever created.
Scary Movie is an American film series that consists of five parody films that lampoon horror films. The films have cumulatively grossed about $900 million at the box office around the world.
Dimension Films produced the films, which were distributed by Miramax Films (1–3) and The Weinstein Company (4–5).
The franchise started in July 2000 with the release of the first and the highest-grossing movie in the franchise, with scary movie 5 releasing in early 2013, being the only movie that did not feature Anna Faris and Regina Hall. Critics and fans alike criticized the picture, which earned $72,992,798 at the box office worldwide, making it the franchise’s least profitable feature.
The Scary Movie movies have the notorious reputation of giving birth to an entire collection of utterly dreadful films, lazy parodies that make sure to let audiences know what they’re in for with sardonic titles (Epic Movie, Disaster Movie, etc.), making sure that nobody has to think too hard about anything. Despite the fact that many of the pop-culture allusions are understandably antiquated, the films in the parent series are actually rather entertaining, thanks to the fact that they were created by people with plenty of slapstick comedy expertise.
Will scary movie 6 be made?
Malcolm D. Lee, the director of Girls Trip, took over for Scary Movie 5, which was largely regarded as the weakest installment in the series by fans. Since then, they’ve been wondering (as have we) if the franchise can get back on track. Is there going to be a Scary Movie 6?

What can we hope for?
After the Weinstein Company collapsed as a result of the scandal, and Dimension rarely released their films until they collaborated with Lionsgate to release them on DVD/Blu-Ray/Digital, chances for part 6 are likely to be limited right now.
Part 5 was also released 5 years ago (it’s been a while) and received a lot of bad criticism. The majority of the film was reshot.
There hasn’t been any word on Scary Movie 6 yet.
But, who knows, if that really happens, another corporation might buy the rights and resurrect it. This has happened with a number of horror properties, including Halloween, Friday the 13th, and others. From there, they’d figure out which direction to go.
Bring back characters, recruit outstanding screenwriters, and parody scary movies, if possible. Get Out, Hereditary, It, Split, and The Conjuring/Annabelle are all good choices to parody.
It would happen if it received an announcement from a different company. But for the time being, we’re just left with five options.
Scary Movie 6 Plot
While there’s still hope that the franchise gets renewed for a Scary Movie 6 and we get to watch it by late 2023, what can we expect from the movie if it’s ever made.
There are rumours that if the film is made, it will intentionally ignore the fifth part and even though Blaine(Katt Williams) has a different personality, the fifth film is purposefully ignored. Until the film’s post-credits scene, the events of the fifth feature took place entirely in a dream sequence.
To tell its own plot, the ‘Scary Movie’ series draws on popular horror, sci-fi, and psychological thriller films. ‘Scream,’ ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer,’ ‘The Ring,’ ‘Signs,’ ‘Saw,’ ‘War of the Worlds,’ ‘The Grudge,’ and ‘Mama’ have all provided as inspiration for the stories over the years. In the midst of all of this, the films have made references to different genres, with references to anything from ‘Black Swan’ to ‘Brokeback Mountain’ to ‘The Matrix’.
Given the rapid ascent of the horror genre, with films like ‘It,’ ‘Hereditary,’ ‘A Quiet Place,’ ‘The Conjuring series,’ and ‘Get Out,’ the sixth installment would have little trouble finding inspiration. The options are limitless.
Scary Movie 6 Cast
The film’s principal cast changes with each new instalment, but the characters remain the same. The performers are simply replaced, as though the same garments were wangled by different people. Given the fact that the last section of the film was not well received by the public, there is relatively little information regarding it. So, Anna Faris, Shawn Wayans, Regina Hall, Anthony Anderson, Marlon Wayans, Gary Owen, Andrew Bachelor, Reed Alexander, and Kevin Hart are likely to be among the Scary Movie 6 ‘s cast members.
