Selling the OC Season 2 Release Dates, Cast, Plot, and More

Following the release of Netflix’s Selling Sunset spinoff, Selling the OC, on August 24, 2022, the show received many negative reviews from the public, and for good reasons too. Fans of Selling Sunset were left wondering if the spinoff was really about real estate or just an excuse to give a bunch of unprofessional, mean, disloyal, and downright rude realtors some five hours of fame and a lifetime of bad reputations.

Selling the OC is a reality TV series supposedly about the personal and professional lives of real estate agents working at a new branch of Oppenheim Group in Orange County, California. Like Selling Sunset before it, the show was created by Adam DiVello under his production company, Done and Done Productions, and Lionsgate Television. Selling the OC was produced by the founder and president of Oppenheim Group, Jason Oppenheim. In all eight episodes of season 1, we see a lot more bullying, cheating, and indecency than sold houses.

Selling the OC Season 1 Recap

Selling the OC Season 1 Recap

Selling the OC star, Tyler Stanaland got himself in a bit of a mess that may or may not be the reason his two-year marriage with Pitch Perfect star, Brittany Snow, is now over. It began during a celebration at the beach, where co-star, Alex Hall, demonstrated a “nosey” on Stanaland. This act, which was invented on the show, involved her mouth on Tyler’s nose, just another platonic gesture towards a married man. No big deal. And truly, the “nosey” was blown off as an innocent gesture until Starland revealed that another co-star, Kayla Carmona had tried to kiss him on two different occasions off camera.

Naturally, (because this is a show where married men cuddle single women and everyone is a bloody hypocrite), the other realtors team up against Kayla, shaming the woman for making grabby hands at a married man. Defensively, Kayla brings up the “nosey”, calling the others out for ignoring the gesture which was just as improper as her attempted kiss. Definitely not a strong defense there Kayla, but after some back and forth, she was forgiven. Or maybe the realtors just moved on to their next drama, like an adult version of high school.

Not even a month after the premiere of Selling the OC, Brittany Snow and Tyler Stanaland announce their decision to split. Although the two seemingly decided to divorce under amicable circumstances, we begin to reanalyze the “nosey” vs attempted kissing situation. Not one person is thinking there is no connection at all. Especially not after Kayla apologizes to Tyler for potentially ruining his marriage, an apology he easily accepts because he just now decides to be professional, and brushes off a mess that is as much his fault as it is the fault of the two women who threw themselves at him. Although, I guess it’s all working out well for him.

Tyler and Brittany were recently seen having dinner together with their dog, a night that ended with Tyler at Brittany’s door after they had already left dinner in different cars. They were reportedly seen the next morning, Tyler still in the same hoodie he had on the night before. We don’t know what’s going on there but maybe we’ll find out. Nothing is ever really clear about these celebrity stories.

Back to the drama, we have actually seen the ending of. In the season finale of Selling the OC, old wounds are reopened by Alexandra Rose when, with good intentions, she brings up the hypocrisy of others in shaming Kayla for the same thing Alex did. Kayla, who, like every guilty person in the world, is more than okay with the issue being buried, does not really appreciate it being rehashed. There are tears, and then a lot of making-up.

The season ends on a good note, and everyone is on “good terms”. Never mind that a marriage might have ended because of this show, and some of the stars have blocked one another on social media. We don’t see any bad blood there at all.

Will there be Season 2 of Selling the OC_

As of today, Selling the OC has not been renewed for season 2. It could very well happen, considering its Selling Sunset counterpart has been renewed for a sixth and seventh season and has run for five seasons since its premiere in 2019.
