Stars Wars: Andor Episode 1 begins with Cassian Andor, an adept thief, ending up on a planet called Morlana One on his quest to find his lost sister, Kerri. While he is on Morlana One, he is attacked by two Preox-Morlana Authority security officers, and mistakenly kills them in the fight. In a panic, Cassian runs to his home planet Ferris, where he tries to set up an alibi for himself, with the help of a droid, B2EMO, and his colleague, Brasso.

To fix his messy finances, pay off his debts and disappear from the sight of the Pre-Mor authorities, Cassian decides to sell an Imperial navigation device called Starpath Unit on the black market, and asks his friend, Bix, to connect him with a buyer. Bix’s boyfriend, Timm, becomes suspicious of the relationship between Bix and Cassian.

Meanwhile, the excessively diligent deputy chief inspector of security back in Morlana One, Syril Karn, decides to investigate the murder of the two Pre-Mor officers against the wish of the corrupt chief inspector. He traces Andor to Ferrix. The episode ends with a flashback, where we see Kassa, a young Cassian, leave his sister behind to check out a starship that just destroyed the unnamed settlement of the Kenari tribe to which Kassa and Kerri belong.

In Andor Episode 2, Karn is closing in on Cassian after their jealous boyfriend, Timm, reports Cassian to Pre-Mor, which allows them to pinpoint Cassian’s location and issue a warrant for his arrest. News of the warrant worries Maarva, Cassian’s adoptive mother, and causes the messed up thief to double his efforts to flee the planet. Bix’s contact, Luthen Rael comes to Ferrix to purchase the Starpath Unit. The flashback from the previous episode continues, and we see Kassa and the other Kenaris fight off a surviving occupant of the starship, but not before one of them is killed. The Kenari kids flee the crash site, but young Cassian stays behind.

At the beginning of Andor Episode 3, we see how Maarva, and her droid, B2EMO crossed paths with young Cassian in another flashback. Maarva adopts Kassa and changes his name, which brings us full circle to present-day Cassian. The plot of the series takes off in this episode. Luthen Rael, Bix’s contact who wants to buy the Starpath Unit, meets up with Cassian at an abandoned factory. But when Luthen sees Cassian, he decides the thief will make a good addition to the Rebel Alliance, a revolutionary group against the Galactic Empire, the big bad autocratic pack of wolves of the Star Wars universe.

At the same time, Karn and his partner, Mosk, attack Maarva’s home, beat Bix up, and kill Timm when he tries to intervene. Serves the jealous little snitch right if you ask us. Next time, he will think about who the bad guy is. Except there won’t be a next time for him, will there?

Karn, Mosk, and other security officers surround the abandoned factory, where Cassian and Luthen are negotiating his addition to the revolution. Shots are fired, ships are sabotaged, and our leading man comes out on top. Cassian escapes the planet with Luthen after making sure Karn and Mosk are left stranded on Ferrix. Andor Episode 4 will be released on September 28, and we will find out what happens next after Cassian’s grim triumph.
