Striking Out Season 3 Release Date, Cast, Plot, and More!

Striking Out Season 3 is in the talks after two fantastic seasons. This Dublin-produced series dominated RTE’s Sunday night ratings for more than a year. It would not be fair to deny fans across the world another season to enjoy.

Despite having an Irish background, the Striking Out series was brought to America due to its immense success. In March 2017, Blinder Films created it for RTE Television, and it debuted on Acorn TV. This legal drama has four episodes in season 1 and six episodes in season 2, respectively.

For RTÉ on Sunday nights, the series garnered the greatest ratings in over a year. The Irish Examiner received confirmation from RTÉ’s Head of Drama Jane Gogan that a second series was already in the works before the first episode was broadcast. Despite the great ratings and cliffhanger ending, not much has been spoken of about Striking Out season 3. So, here’s everything you need to know.

James Phelan developed the Irish drama television series Striking Out, which was helmed by Lisa James Larsson and Simon Massey. The show debuted on RTÉ One on January 1, 2017, and thus far it has had two seasons. The television show’s first season consisted of 4 episodes, while its second season had 6 episodes that lasted around 60 minutes each. Since the second season’s release a little over a year ago, viewers have been kept in the dark about whether the show’s creators want to produce a third season or whether the show has concluded permanently. The series has gone a long way since its debut in 2017.

Since the first two seasons were released years ago, many fans have given up hope that the show would ever make a comeback. 1.8K individuals viewed the show, and they gave it 7.6 out of 10 ratings, according to IMDB. The series has a decent rating if we concentrate on how the critics have responded to it. The return of the series appears to be quite favorable, but the rumor that it would return in 2020 has given us a sign that it won’t happen anytime soon.

Our take: Striking Out season 3 has been assumed canceled till renewed.

Striking Out Season 3 Plot

Striking Out Season 3 Plot
Striking Out Season 3 Plot

Both seasons one and two of this courtroom drama are brimming with raw passion and deft power dynamics. The narrative opens with Tara Rafferty discovering her fiancé Eric Dunbar having an extramarital affair with a coworker. When we learn that Tara and Eric both work at the same legal firm, the friction escalates. Soon after, Tara quits her job and starts her own legal practice, where she defends clients in domestic-related disputes.

We see Tara confronting roadblocks from powerful individuals later in Striking Out. Her personal issues and her work problems start to overlap. Can Tara cope, make peace with, and overcome both?

Audiences were left with a dubious cliffhanger in Season 2. Striking Out  Season 3 will presumably pick up where Season 2 left off when it debuts on OTT platforms. Tara, Barry, and the enigmatic Coraline may be the main focus in Season 3 of Striking Out. It has been said that this James Phelan performance is “too little.” This will probably change too. If I had to change something, I’d say give us longer seasons!

Striking Out Ending Explained

Striking Out Ending Explained

Barry O’Brien, a previous customer who’s wife Corrine has filed for divorce, approaches Tara. Barry is worried that Corrine would try to seize control of his new company, a fitness center that he and his second wife, Julie, co-own.

While this is going on, Corrine approaches Eric and demands that he file a petition for half of Barry’s assets, which amount to more than £2.5 million. Barry won’t let Corrine take away a portion of his income, so Tara attempts a different strategy by having Barry’s kid attempt to maintain peace. Also, Richard requests that Eric drop the accusation against Tara so that Vincent can continue his investigation. Despite Eric’s advice, Fitzjames acknowledges guilt. George learns details about the Garda police personnel.

As the repercussions of Fitzjames’ disclosure grow, Eric finds Lucy has been given a position in New York with an immediate start when he gets to work. Eric threatens to leave Dunbar and testify against his father since he believes his father may have planned the maneuver.

Tara contacts Deidre York in order to have the necessary leverage to detain Richard and question him. Meg follows a Superintendent who was linked with the two security officers who were responsible for Ray’s detention and sees him at a secret meeting with Richard and (BIG GASP) Conrad, Tara’s father. Tara is surprised to learn that Sam will be defending his father as Richard is interrogated by Vincent. A breaking news story concerning Vincent and Tara manages to halt the investigation just as Richard’s participation appears to be coming undone.
