Summer Time Rendering is inspired by Yasuki Tanaka’s Japanese manga series of the same name. The anime series was announced to reach the audience soon after the release of the corresponding manga’s 139th chapter back in February 2021. There are 25 episodes for the first season of the anime and produced by OLM.

As soon as the first season ended fans of Summertime Rendering were already waiting for Summertime Rendering Season 2. The first season was packed with climaxes, action, and a lot of twists that kept the viewers hooked and made Summertime Rendering garner a pretty big fanbase soon too.

Shinpei Ajiro has been living with the Kofune family along with their two daughters since the death of his parents. He leaves for Tokyo to continue with his academics but then returns after Ushio’s tragical drowning while she tried to rescue a little girl. During the funeral, he gets to know about bruises found around Ushio’s neck which makes him suspicious regarding the real cause of her death.

Doubtful of Ushio’s death being a murder, he tries to retrace the events back to get some clues but stranger events only continue to come on his way. Disappearing people and other such unexplainable and absurd events causes Mio to recall the folktale of “Shadows”, it is believed that one’s meetup with their Shadow tells them of their impending doom.

Facing the dark side, Shinpei stands against his grim fate to fulfill Ushio’s last will—to protect Mio.

As of now, OLM, the studio behind the production of Summertime Rendering has not spoken regarding the renewal status of the shows yet, and hence, officially there is not yet any confirmation whether Summertime Rendering Season 2 is happening or not!

However, the supernatural anime series has received a great response from manga fans which is most likely to push OLM to announce the production of season 2 soon enough! For the first season the anime wrapped up the story till the 71st chapter, the manga has 139 chapters which mean there is still quite enough storyline for Summertime Rendering season 2!

The first season took about 14 months for production to wrap up, considering this we can expect a potential season 2 to reach us somewhere around early 2024 at the soonest.
