For more than 85 years, D.C. has housed an expansive universe of legendary figures and unmatched storytelling. D.C. navigates the birth of the sidekick, post-World War II parental worries, and a corporate takeover while fighting to be relevant.
From survival to resurrection, D.C. makes a daring decision to also take a chance on a new Superman movie during a time of dwindling comic book sales, which completely resets D.C.’s whole universe. Intending to develop comic books into an influential medium, D.C. produces its first black superhero and pushes the bounds of storytelling while rivals start to address critical social concerns.
The first installment, titled The Hero’s Journey, will trail the origins of the Super Hero trinity and will navigate the initial challenges that D.C. encountered and overcame. This is followed by Coming of Age, which focuses on D.C.’s move to make a Superman film amid declining comic book sales, the creative decision to introduce its first Black superhero, and the launch of Vertigo Comics.
