Tales of the Walking Dead Release Date, Cast, Plot, and More

Since the end of the show, ‘The Walking Dead’ after 11 seasons, fans were eagerly waiting for yet another addition to the eminent The Walking Dead franchise. It is a spin-off to the American post-apocalyptic horror television series adapted from the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard—that together formed the core of The Walking Dead franchise. But even though it is the fourth television series of the renounced franchise, this is an anthology series with new characters and episodes every week and could thus be a fresh start for spectators and each episode could be experienced as a new story without having to worry about the subduing, overall continuity.

The series showrunner is Channing Powell, a former writer, and producer on both ‘The Walking Dead’ and ‘Fear the Walking Dead’. He is also the executive producer, along with Scott M. Gimple, the chief content officer of the Walking Dead Universe. Haifaa al-Mansour (“Good Lord Bird”), Deborah Kampmeier (“Star Trek: Picard”), and Ron Underwood (“Big Shot”) each directed one episode of the first season. Series producer Michael Satrazemis directed the other three, after being a part of the “Walking Dead” Universe for some time already.
