Jane Sloan (Katie Stevens), Kat Edison (Aisha Dee), and Sutton Brady (Meghann Fahy) are three millennial women living in New York City. Season 5 of The Bold Type has been confirmed. But for Jane Sloan (Katie Stevens), Kat Edison (Aisha Dee), Sutton Brady-Hunter (Meghann Fahy), and the rest of the cast, it’ll be the final chapter. The fifth and final season will only have six episodes, unlike previous seasons. According to the official synopsis, viewers will find Jane, Kat, and Sutton “on the verge of defining who they truly are and how best to leave their mark on the world.”

The official trailer for season 5 of The Bold Type was released by the network ahead of the show’s comeback. Fans get a preview of what’s in store for the entire squad, and it appears to be a rollercoaster of emotions. Season 5 of The Bold Type premieres on Freeform on Wednesday, May 26 at 10 p.m. ET.

The Bold Type’s fourth season finished in summer 2020, leaving fans craving more. Season 4 of the dramedy was forced to halt production and reconsider its two-part season finale, as was the case with other series affected by the coronavirus outbreak. Season 5 will, thankfully, begin-up just where we left off. Wendy spoke with TVLine after season 4 ended in July about what fans should expect, and it sounds like there’s a lot to look forward to. Sutton and Richard’s marriage began to crumble immediately after they exchanged vows, as everyone knows. After a miscarriage, the Scarlet stylist said that she didn’t want to have children and was distraught when Richard abandoned her.

What Could Possibly Happen In Season 5?

What Could Possibly Happen In Season 5

“I feel that Richard and Sutton have much more to explore. They both need to explore themselves first, though, they’ve been such an amazing, supportive couple, and Richard has been very accommodating in the past, they haven’t hit real, huge roadblocks before, I certainly don’t think the door is closed forever. But we’ll all discuss it in season 5.” Said Wendy, one of the executive producers of the show

Meghann recently told Good Morning America that fans should expect to “kind of watch them work it out, hopefully” between the two. In a separate interview with ABC, she said that her character will begin processing events by going to counseling. On the other hand, Jane will continue to learn what it takes to operate her own vertical and the challenges that come with it, such as keeping her personal and professional lives distinct.

“There was the issue of, ‘What do you do when you have a true connection with someone you work with, but you also have a position of authority?’ It’s also her first job. As a result, we were going to see more of that [play] out. In that way, her journey was cut short,” Wendy explained. “At the same time, she was gaining traction with Scarlet, and Jacqueline was telling her that she was Scarlet’s future. So, she was going to juggle a lot of interesting stuff. We’ll continue to look into such possibilities.”
