The Equalizer Season 3 Release Date, Storyline, Cast, and More

Andrew W. Marlowe and Terri Edda Miller created the thrilling crime drama TV series ‘The Equalizer.’ The show revolves around Robyn McCall, a single mother and former CIA operative living in New York City, and is based on the 1980s show of the same name created by Richard Lindheim and Michael Sloan. While she has left her previous career behind, she continues to use her skills as a vigilante, also known as the Equalizer, to defend helpless citizens. Robyn is assisted in her quest for justice by many former friends and new allies, while she is pursued by the very law enforcement officers she once worked for.

The series premiered in February 2021. While the show did not start off well, fans grew to appreciate it for its dynamic characters and gripping narrative. Furthermore, after the explosive season 2 finale, they are eager to find out if they will see Robyn in action a third time. To answer everyone’s questions, here’s everything we know so far about season 3 of ‘The Equalizer’.

Season 2 of ‘The Equalizer’ premiered on CBS on October 10, 2021. After a total of 18 episodes, the season finale aired on May 15, 2022. Each episode in the second installment lasts 43-44 minutes.

Let us now discuss the possibility of a third season of the show. Fans can rejoice even more because the show has been officially renewed for seasons 3 and 4. Thom Sherman, CBS Entertainment’s senior executive vice president of programming, confirmed the same in a statement in May 2022, saying, “The Equalizer continues to pack a powerful punch on Sunday nights, and we’re thrilled to have it back for two more seasons.” Not only that, but in early May 2022, executive producer and lead actress Queen Latifah (Robyn) revealed that the show would return for two more episodes on CBS Mornings.

Given that the third season has been approved by CBS, it is likely that it is already in the planning stages. However, the wait time is primarily determined by the network’s release schedule. Although the show debuted in CBS’ midseason slot in 2021, its sophomore season was part of the network’s fall schedule. Having said that, it is highly likely that the new edition will be released in time for the 2022-2023 broadcast season. So, if everything goes as planned, The Equalizer season 3 will be released sometime in Q4 2022.

In season 2, Robyn abandons her plans to stop being a vigilante when Marcus asks for her assistance in tracking down a group of unidentified robbers who murdered Detective Paley. Furthermore, she briefly encounters her ex-husband, Dr. Miles, which leads to a complicated situation. Later, DA Grafton pursues Robyn furiously but abandons the manhunt when the latter saves her from a murder attempt.

Meanwhile, Robyn and her team work on a variety of cases. Mel, on the other hand, reveals that Harry is still alive. But he is arrested, only to be escorted out of jail by William. Unfortunately, the latter was killed in Mason’s plane crash. As the season comes to a close, Robyn and Mason clash over William’s death, and Delilah learns about Harry and Mel’s assistance to her mother.

The third season may pick up from the previous season’s cliffhanger ending and reveal whether or not Robyn is able to avenge William’s death. Furthermore, it is likely to examine the changes in Delilah and Robyn’s relationship now that the former is aware of her mother’s true identity.

Other potential story arcs that could be developed include the possibility of a romance between Robyn and Dante, as well as DA Grafton deciding to pursue the Equalizer once more. Furthermore, our skilled protagonist is expected to face a new set of difficult cases while continuing to assist New Yorkers with her devoted team.
