Created and written by Joe Barton, The Lazarus Project is a science fiction thriller action drama series that was aired on June 16, 2022. Within just 28 days, the series had around 1.7 million views.
Currently, The Lazarus Project is rated 7.1 out of 10 on IMDb, and it holds an 86% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Barton is also the executive producer of the series alongside Julian Murphy, Johnny Capps, Kreuzpaintner, and Marco. Adam Knopf is the producer of the series. The series is produced by the production company Urban Myth Films.
The Lazarus Project Season 2 Release Date
The Lazarus Project debuted on June 16, 2022, along with 8 episodes on the same day. Marco Kreuzpaintner directed the first four episodes, the fifth and sixth episodes were by Laura Scrivano, and the seventh and eighth were by Akaash Meeda and written by the same writer Barton.
The makers renewed the series on August 4, 2022, due to the love it received from the audience for the first season. But they have not yet revealed a release date for The Lazarus Project Season 2.
The Lazarus Project Season 2 Story
There are a lot of things that might happen in The Lazarus Project Season 2. Since Sarah is now aware that her boyfriend George can time travel, this will bring many issues in their relationship. While speaking in an interview, Joe Barton stated that the time travellers might have to confront the effects of the time-jumping actions, and more rogue agents might be disclosed.
Barton added that they might explore more, and the idea is to rely on the people doing it. There is a God-like aspect, and they reside in a place where time and space can be manipulated. They can live without any impact, which might corrupt them or change how they see mortality. Barton also said they don’t want to explore a lot above Caroline’s character. Although this is shady, there are questions about who pulls the strings.
Janet was held hostage by the mercenaries, and she was sent back to 2012. The team might now rescue her, but because they are trapped in a three-week time loop, this mission might become tough.
Time travel has been used by several writers and directors for their movies, and there is a section of the audience who has found it confusing. Still, they also loved it at the same time. The Lazarus Project has used the same concept, and since it has a mix of action and drama, this has proved to be one of the best television shows.
Season 1 was loved by the audiences for its unique storyline alongside the performances of the lead cast. The makers have surely planned many things for Season 2, and it is expected to receive a more positive response in the upcoming season.
