The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel was renewed for season 5 on February 17, 2022, the same day as the premiere of season 4. Although the season already began filming in late February 2022, it is still at the production stage, so a premiere date has not been confirmed. Accounting for the post-production stage, I think it’s safe to say that we will see the fifth and final season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel in 2023. The Marvelous Mrs Maisel Season 5 Plot
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is set in 1958 New York City. It follows the journey of a Jewish-American woman, Miriam “Midge” Maisel, as she transitions from housewife to stand-up comedian in almost one night. A career choice she has to keep secret from her family. Midge struggles to navigate an industry where women are discriminated against while going through a divorce with her cheating husband, Joel, an untalented comic. Across four seasons, we see Midge go through difficult tours, humiliations, spiteful blacklisting, and finally, a career reboot. The series also explores the separate love lives of Midge and Joel. Midge’s love interest is comic Lenny Bruce, and Joel’s is Mei.
We do not know what The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 5 will be about, but from the interviews with producers that we have seen, we know we are in for a treat. The show is going to wrap up with the drama, chaotic relationships, and some hilarious stand-up comedy just the way it began.
