Vampires Academy is an exciting new TV series about a school for vampires where they learn the basic skills of living. Julie Plec, the creator of TV shows like ‘The Vampire Diaries’ and ‘The Originals’, created a new show for teens along with Marguerite MacIntyre on the online platform Peacock. Vampire Academy is based on a series of young adult paranormal romance novels by international bestselling author Richelle Mead. Additionally, it is also an adaptation of the 2014 film which starred Zoey Deutch and Cameron Monaghan.
Vampire Academy is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studios Group. Julie Plec serves as a showrunner, writer, and executive producer for the series, along with Marguerite MacIntyre also as a writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner.
Emily Cummins, Don Murphy, Susan Montford, Deepak Nayer, and Jillian DeFrehn are the other executive producers. The show sees an ensemble cast led by Sisi Stringer playing Rose Hathaway, a guardian-in-training Dhampir, and Daniela Nieves portraying Moroi princess Lissa Dragomir. The luxurious costumes and decadent set accompanied the lavish filming in Spain. Viewers are easily captivated by it because of the show’s intense story dynamics.
The Vampire Academy Release Date
On Thursday, September 15, 2022, ‘Peacock’, an online streaming platform premiered the first season of Vampire Academy in the US. The first 4 episodes were broadcast on the 15th of September itself, following which the remaining 6 episodes were to be released weekly from the 22nd of September. In the UK, the show debuted exclusively on Peacock through ‘Sky’ and ‘NOW’ on Friday, September 16, 2022.

This show involves a composite cast which makes it all the more exciting as viewers get to see such a diverse group of actors. As mentioned above, Daniela Nieves and Sisi Stringer play the leads as Lissa and Rose respectively. The Sex Education star Kieron Moore plays Dmitri and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds star André Dae Kim plays Christian. The Vampire Academy Plot
Vampire Academy is a stylish new series about a school where vampires and their elite guards learn the ropes. The show highlights the protagonist Rose and her best friend Lissa’s friendship that surpasses their surprisingly different classes as they seek to complete their education and enter imperial vampire society.
While one is a powerful royal, the other is a half-vampire Guardian that is sworn to protect their society from the savage antagonist ‘Strigoi’ who has threatened to tear their society apart. However, the relationship grows complicated as royal in-fighting threatens to tear the fabric of their world apart. According to Peacock, the Vampire Academy series “combines the elegance of aristocratic romance and the supernatural thrills of the vampire genre” in a “sexy drama.”
The Vampire Academy Storyline
The show revolves around two best friends, Rose and Lissa, who have been inseparable since childhood. While they dreamt of getting away from all the vampire politics in their life after graduation, fate had something else in mind when Lissa’s royal family died in a car crash, leaving her as the inevitable heir to the Dragomir seat on the vampiric council and probably to the throne as the ruler of Moroi since the former Queen was to step down.
It observes the vampire-human hybrid Rose training at St. Vladimir’s Academy in order to become a guardian to her best friend, Lissa Dragomir, who is the last member of her royal family. And in doing so, Rose falls in love with her instructor Dimitri Belikov. But all of a sudden, the girls risk being broken apart- while Lissa is forced to focus on her royal duties, Rose gets preoccupied because of her romantic feelings for her instructor.
Just as the troubles seem to be increasing for both, they are the only trustworthy ones for each other as everyone else around them appears to be motivated by their own aim. The girls also disclose secrets about the world that change the idea they had of the world they had been living in.

The Vampire Academy Trailer
Peacock released the teaser for ‘The Vampire Academy’ on its Youtube channel on 22nd July 2022, which got fans of the book series excited to finally watch their favorite story on television. The official trailer was then broadcast on 17th August which gave the audience an idea of a complicated yet fancy vampire society and the challenges that came in the way of Rose and Lissa as they navigated their way while taking every small step in their lives.
