The Water Man has a very familiar cast to the audience as most of the actors were those who have done some work previously and loved by their fans. So when it comes to leads in the cast the story has the Boone family. Where Amos Boone played by David Oyelowo’s his father and his wife, Mary is played by Rosario Dawson, and Lonnie Chavis playing Gunner their loved son.

Some other talented actors playing the supporting role are Maria Bello who is all set to play a local sheriff. Amiah Miller’s Jo is also a character who thinks that Water Man exists the same as Grunner and supports him in everything he does. Last but not least a very good friend of Oyelowo’s comes up as a melancholy funeral director who also completely believes in the Water Man Myth.

The Water Man Plot

The Water Man Plot

The story starts with a family called Boone who shift to a very remote town, Oregon which is surrounded by forest from all sides, and as we already know that a town boarded from the forest at its all sides would definitely not have anything normal like others. For sure there have to be some unique and wearied things happening with and around them as the story itself starts with the first dialogue of Amos stating ‘This town is weird’ would be inescapable for the family and especially Grunner.

The presence of two child actors Lonnie Chavis who is 13-year-old and Amiah Miller who is 16-year-old in The Water Man teaches so much to the children sitting as an audience and they would be so much which they could also relate to. Oyelowo has shared all about his experience and idea of Water Man to Deadline of Lonnie’s bold movie. He says he always wanted to make a movie that he could share with his kids. He has 4 kids in real and wants to present them with a movie that is not only entertaining but has some beautiful meanings within it and also something which they could also relate to.

He adds that definitely the emotions The Water Man movie shows in the form of sacrificial love is one of the best forms of love a human being has. Giving everything of yours for someone else is something inexpressible and this love is reflected by an 11-year-old kid would definitely move everyone as it has moved me.

At the same time, the black audience could also relate to it as it shows up the blacks as heroes and not whites as usual. This is also one of the most important reasons behind his doing this project as it also breaks some racial barriers and shows some normal problems faced by blacks and how they deal with them.
