Following the finale of The Wheel of Time Season 1, there is still a lot to be explored in the fantasy series. What is the limit of channeling the One Power? Why did Egwene not burn up like the other four women who channeled One Power against thousands of enemy Trollocs? And how was she able to bring Nynaeve back from the dead when channelers are not supposed to be able to do that? Creator Rafe Judkins has promised we will be getting answers to these questions and more.

The Wheel of Time Season 2 will draw from the plots of books 2 and 3, ‘The Great Hunt’ and ‘The Dragon Reborn’ respectively. Of course, some changes will be made and characters will be tailored and given more screen time depending on the vision of the writers and producers. The title of The Wheel of Time Season 1 Episode 1 is ‘A Taste of Solitude’, whose teleplay was done by Amanda Kate Shuman. New characters and cast will be introduced in the coming season. The Wheel of Time follows the story of Moraine, a member of a powerful organization of women (the Aes-Sedai) with the ability to channel an elemental force called One Power. Years after the male half of One Power was corrupted, causing a male channeler nicknamed Dragon to nearly destroy the world, Moraine and her warder, Lan Mandragoran search for the reincarnation of the Dragon. Rather than having the plan to destroy all male channelers as the other Aes Sedai want, Moraine and Lan are bent on finding reincarnation and using him or her in a fight against the Dark One, a primordial evil force.

Moraine and Lan’s search lead them to four possible candidates in the Two Rivers: Rand al’Thor, Perrin Aybara, Mat Cauthon, and Egwene al’Vere. On their journey back to the Aes Sedai center (the White Tower), and then to the seat of Dark One (the Eye of the World), we see Moraine, Lan, the four possible Dragon reincarnations, and the villagers of Two Rivers battle evil followers of the Dark One, get split up, and made to suffer betrayals, losses, injuries, and death.

The Wheel of Time is a Prime Video fantasy series based on a tetradecology (series of 14 books) of the same name. The books were written by Robert Jordan and completed by Brandon Sanderson after Robert’s death. American television writer and producer, Rage Judkins, developed the show for Prime Video in 2017. Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television produced the fantasy series in conjunction with Radar Pictures, Iwot Pictures, Long Weekend, and Little Island Productions. Race Judkins, Mike Weber, Sanaa Hamri, Darren Lenke, and Ted Field are some executive producers of the series with main actress Rosamund Pike (Moraine) as a producer. The Wheel of Time Season 1, which premiered on November 19, 2021, was filmed primarily in Prague.

When asked about the tracks of The Wheel of Time season 1, composer Lorne Balfe said, “The score to this series is a re-imagination of fantasy music, doing away with the genre’s reliance on large, traditional orchestras in favor of more modern colors while retaining the strong melodies and bold harmonies that fans can expect from such an epic.” Balfe returned as composer for season 2 so we can expect the same quality of music that meets the composer’s description as we saw in the previous season.
