A zombie outbreak happens in South Korea so Captain Jung-Seok tries to rescue his family members. He meets a couple with a kid who pleads with him to help them too. But Jung-Seok refused to help them as the guy was bleeding.

They board the ship but a lot of people get infected the ship. Jung-Seok tries to escape the zombies with his family, but his nephew gets infected and his sister refused to leave without her child so Jung-Seok locks her inside the cabin along with the zombies and escapes with his brother-in-law.

Four years later in Hong Kong, both Jung-Seok and Chul-min decide to go on a mission to retrieve a truck which is abducted in the Korean peninsula with US$20 million in it. The crew goes to Korea and finds the truck by killing some zombies but it ends up attracting more zombies.

The rest of the series shows how Jung-Seok meets different people while trying to survive the zombie apocalypse and how it changes him as a person.

Jung Seok and his crew get the attention of some of the humans who managed to survive in the ghostlands of the Peninsula. The group of survived humans uses zombies as weapons and makes them move toward Jung Seok and his team. This event almost kills everyone. Jung Seok decides to leave Chul-min behind and escape with the help of Jooni and his sister Yu-jin.

It is later revealed that the mother of the sisters who rescued him was the woman whom he refused to save at the beginning of the movie. Meanwhile, Unit 631 abducts Chul-min. The unit is extremely vicious and to kill boredom, they force the humans to battle with the zombies. Unfortunately, Chul-min dies while Jung Seok tries to save him.

Jung-Seok, Min-jung, Joon-i, and Yu-jin spot a UN helicopter landing on the peninsula. Min-Jung pleads Jung-Seok to rescue her daughters as they helped to rescue him earlier. Min-Jung was extremely injured and she wasn’t able to run. She gave Jung-Seok the responsibility to take care of her kids and she went to distract the zombies.

She distracted the zombies by blaring a horn after getting into a truck. Meanwhile, Jung-Seok and the kids reach the helicopter. Jung-Seok realized that he had to keep the family together as he failed to save his sister, nephew, brother-in-law, and Elder Kim. He goes back to save Min-Jung and he also forgives himself for his past wrong-doings.

The movie ends with everyone getting rescued by Major Jane who was referred to by Elder Kim. This scene is the biggest twist of the movie. It was revealed that Elder Kim was not delusional and he was speaking to an actual person. Jung-Seok who was struggling to leave Korea because he had no family left Peninsula with a new family.
