Comedy horror is a genre that has been highly successful on the big screen and small screen all these years. Netflix is making another attempt at this genre by bringing another show, Wednesday.

However, the streaming platform has revealed a few things that we would get to see in the upcoming show. They stated that it will follow the misadventures of Wednesday Addams, who is a student of Nevermore Academy and it is a boarding school located in New England. The lead character will try to become an expert in her increasing psychic abilities, stop a monstrous killing spree that has been disturbing the local town and solve a mystery related to the supernatural that also involved her parents 25 years ago. She also navigates her new and tangled relationships at Nevermore in between all this.

Another source states that the lead character is thrown out of eight schools in five years. She eventually starts a new life at the academy which is a two-century-old boarding school attended by her parents. But Willa does not want to do anything with what her parents did at the school and she begins to plan her escape. However, the academy is different compared to other schools that she has attended in the past. The school has a few outcasts including the Fangs, the Furs, the Scales, and the Stoners. It is a piece of a mystery that has hidden a lot of secrets about her family’s past.

The lead character is created by cartoonist Charles Addams and she is the only daughter of The Addams Family. It is a family which appeared in many single-panel cartoons and half of them were initially published in The New Yorker for around 50 years following their origin in 1938. The characters have been adapted on several mediums like television, film, video games, comic books, musicals, and merchandise.

Tim Burton is one of the creators of the show and he has gained recognition as the director of popular movies like Dark Shadows, Batman, Batman Returns, Alice in Wonderland, and more. The lead character is portrayed by the 20-year-old Jenna Ortega who specifically became popular for her performance in another Netflix series, You. These are the reasons that would easily attract a large number of audiences to the show and also increase the viewership for Netflix. There are only a few days left for the premiere on Wednesday and audiences are eagerly waiting for it.
