What If…? season 2 Release Date
The second season of What If…? will premiere in early 2023. A.C. Bradley, the show’s head writer, has recently confirmed that season two of What If…? will premiere on Disney Plus in 2022. The fact that plans for the next batch of episodes were being hatched even as the first season’s episodes were being produced is encouraging; one idea was even shelved until it could be better integrated into the second season’s installments.
It’s common knowledge that making an animated film is a labor-intensive process. Mark Winderbaum, a producer at Marvel Studios, told Collider that the company was “lucky” to gain the go-ahead on a second season early enough to premiere it in 2019. In this brave new world, I hesitate to make any predictions, but I can say that we plan to make this an annual event. An official release date is unknown at this time. What If…? will likely be released toward the end of 2022, after Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk have occupied the summer months for Marvel.
What If…? season 2 Plot
The second season of What If…? is an anthology, so its plot could go in any direction. A mix of MCU reimaginings like Captain Carter and Else World adaptations in the vein of Marvel’s Zombies can be expected. The newer heroes and villains from around the franchise are likely to get more screen time as well.

We can only hope that the Eternals, Shang-Chi, and Black Widow characters make cameos.It allows you to hypothetically explore an infinite number of possible worlds. The Marvel Animation panel at San Diego Comic-Con gave us a sneak peek at some of the stories that will be included in the upcoming season. Apparently, the plot will involve Hela, Captain Carter encountering the Winter Soldier, and Odin taking on The Mandarin.
What If…? season 2 Cast
We may assume at least a portion of the live-action actors will deliver the voices given Bradley’s comments about using Shang-Chi, Eternals, and other Phase 4 characters. There’s a lot of A-list Hollywood actors and actresses in these movies (Simu Liu, Kumail Nanjiani, Angelina Jolie, Florence Pugh, etc.), and What If…? has shown that Marvel can coax some of its A-listers to provide a few lines. It’s unclear who will return to their on-screen roles, but be assured that we’ll be watching the known cosmos and beyond for additional information as it becomes available.
