The movie’s story revolves around a writer named Loretta (Sandra Bullock), who uses the same protagonist—Dr. Angela Lovemore—in several of her works. Her most recent book, which she just released, is about Lovemore and Dash McMohan’s adventure. She chooses to embark on a tour with the model featured on the book’s front cover at the publisher’s urging. Due to the popularity of the model Alan Dash (Channing Tatum), the tour, however, ends up being disastrous for the most part.

Later, a wealthy woman by the name of Abigail Fairfax comes up to Loretta and claims that her most recent work of fiction was based on research she had carried out with her late archaeologist husband. Her husband was convinced that a priceless treasure known as the “Crown Of Fire” was hidden in the lost city he had found on the remote island of “Atlantis.” Abigail asks Loretta to accompany her on the journey because she too is convinced of the treasure and plans to go find it. Loretta reluctantly agrees.

However, Abigail takes Loretta hostage by rendering her unconscious and leading her on the journey out of desperation to find the treasure. Alan notices this and enlists the help of CIA agent Jack Trainer (Brad Pitt) to save Loretta. Unfortunately, while trying to save Loretta, Jack takes a bullet to the head. In a village, Loretta and Alan are repelling Abigail’s men. Later, Loretta is once more captured as the rescue operation continues.

after learning that the true treasure lay elsewhere and was not something materialistic, but rather the genuine love shared by the King and Queen. Loretta and Alan were forced into a tomb by a furious Abigail Fairfax during a volcanic eruption. Luckily for Loretta and Alan, one of Abigail’s men decides to lend a hand by giving them a crowbar. Abigail is even left behind on the island.

Finally, Beth and the coast guard arrive and save Loretta and Alan. The police arrest Abigail. After that, they are seen relaxing on a stunning beach. Additionally, Jack is seen standing up again; it appears that he managed to survive the bullet.

The entire island nation of the Dominican Republic served as the backdrop for the movie “The Lost City.” According to reports, filming started in May 2021 and lasted until August 16, 2021. The Dominican Republic, the second-largest island country in the Antilles, has a rich cultural heritage on display.

‘A One Way Ticket’ (‘Un Pasaje de Ida’) by Agliberto Melendez, the first entirely homegrown feature film, was released in 1988. The Dominican Republic has historically been one of the most productive locations for filming, particularly for Hollywood productions.

The nation has hosted numerous productions, including the “Pirates of the Caribbean” film series and “The Godfather” trilogy. It is a preferred option for producers and filmmakers for a number of reasons. First off, because of its colonial past, the culture is predominately European in focus.

The island’s dramatic topography includes jungles, rivers, a small hill, and the seas. The productions also receive a 25% transferable tax credit on eligible expenses. Due to the astounding currency exchange rate, it is more than cost-effective. Now let’s take you to the actual locations where the film was filmed.

Dominican Republic, Samaná
The majority of the filming was done in and around Samaná, the provincial capital and a well-known tourist destination. The township’s original location is in the plains, but the hills have now been overrun by settlements.

The Sierra de Samaná mountain range does not have any peaks, but its slopes are quite steep. You should go here, especially if you enjoy watching whales. Together, the cast and crew undoubtedly enjoyed working in some stunning locations.

In the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo
Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic’s capital and one of the oldest cities in the region, was also the location of some filming. The filming crew may have used locations in and near the capital, which is close to Samaná. A number of the elaborate cobblestone buildings in the Zona Colonial neighborhood date back to the 1500s.

Juan Dolio, Republic of the Dominican
The majority of the interior shots were shot in Juan Dolio’s Pinewood Dominican Republic Studios, possibly including the one where Loretta Sage and Abigail Fairfax first meet. The studio facility, a division of the London-based Pinewood Studios Group, is located about 20 minutes from Santo Domingo International Airport.

It is situated in the province of San Pedro de Macors on Autova del Este, Playa Juan Dolio. The most sophisticated underwater filming facilities in the Caribbean can be found at the 43-acre studio.

Other Dominican Republic locations
Additionally, there was filming in and around the resort town of Casa de Campo in the municipality of La Romana. The team managed to secure Casa de Campo, a five-star resort on the Higuey Highway near La Romana. Over 28 square kilometers of the tropical retreat, Ponderosa-style homes can be found.

It was built as a relaxing retreat in 1975 on land that belonged to Gulf+Western’s sugar mill by industrialist Charles Bluhdorn. A few sequences were also shot in the eastern province of Monte Plata, according to sources.

You can watch it on Paramount+, Netflix, and also on Amazon Prime.
