Season 5 of Cobra Kai debuted on Netflix on September 9, 2022. Cobra Kai was renewed for a fifth season in August 2021, a full year before the fourth season aired. Soon after that statement, production began, and by late November, co-creator Jon Hurwitz said filming was nearly complete.

In terms of the plot of the upcoming season of “Cobra Kai,” that is about as loaded a question as one can make. Since the series premiered in 2018, the minds behind the “Cobra Kai” action have pulled almost too many storyline strands to count. Bitter feuds have broken out, violent throwdowns have occurred, delicate friendships have been built, and plenty of surprise twists have been thrown into the mix during the show’s first four seasons.
Despite this, the dominant focus of Season 5 of “Cobra Kai” appears to be finally bringing down big, evil Terry Silver rather than the numerous personal problems that Daniel, Johnny, and the rest of the crew have been dealing with in previous seasons. Given the events of Season 4, Silver has taken complete control of Cobra Kai and the entire karate community in the San Fernando Valley and beyond.
Furthermore, Silver is the last man on earth to have such an outsized impact on the next generation of karate practitioners, as anyone who knows him can attest. I hope the Miyagi team can band together and finally put Silver in his place.
Cast Of Cobra Kai Season 5
Since its 2018 premiere on YouTube Red, the cast of Cobra Kai has grown to include a wide variety of new and returning characters from the Karate Kid films. The fifth season will see the return of series regulars Martin Kove as John Kreese and Thomas Ian Griffith as Terry Silver, as well as series regulars Ralph Macchio and William Zabka as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, respectively. Meanwhile, Yuji Okumoto is expected to reprise his role as Chozen Toguchi from the season 4 finale. This will be his first time in the role since The Karate Kid Part II. Of course, the new run will also see the return of the next generation of superstars.
