The creators have not revealed any specifics about the plot of Sort Of Season 2. However, it should pick up where the first season left off.

The show’s focus is Sabi Mahboob, a gender-fluid millennial with multiple identities, from being a bartender and bookseller to fulfilling his duties as the youngest child in a large Pakistani family. Sabi is in flux in all aspects of their life, from gender to sexuality, family to career. The show is a different coming-of-age story, eschewing labels favoring something more genuine.

According to Jennifer Kim, HBO Max’s SVP of International Originals, Baig and Filippo’s honest and insightful storytelling is a lesson in unraveling conventional views of identity. She expressed excitement for another season of HBO Max’s collaboration with CBC and Sienna Films for the project.

Regarding the cast, we should see the Season 1 lead actors reprise their roles. Bilal Baig, Gray Powell, Kaya Kanashiro, Aden Bedard, Grace Lynn Kung, Ellora Patnaik, Supinder Wraicj, and Gregory Ambrose Calderone are among those involved.

The story revolves around Sabi Mehboob, a Pakistani immigrant who is the series’ protagonist. The depiction of Sabi’s journey as an immigrant child, a bartender at a gay cafe, and a caregiver to the Couple’s children is an essential aspect of the series.

The show was a massive success because it had a unique theme, and the audience members loved it. The main character, Sabi, has held viewers’ attention throughout the first season.

“The second season of Sort Of is the season of love.” There is friend love, family love, love for your job, love for a place, and romantic love. There are so many loves. Sabi is looking for pure and simple love, but love in any form is complicated,” Baig adds.

“We’re thrilled to be able to dig deeper in Season 2 thanks to the honest and relatable stories crafted by Bilal, Fab, the rest of the writers, and our standout cast,” said Jennifer Kawaja, executive producer, Sphere Media.

It is a CBC/HBO Max original series produced with funding from the Canada Media Fund. Bilal Baig and Fab Filippo are the creators, executive producers, and co-showrunners, and Jennifer Kawaja (The Porter) and Bruno Dubé are executive producers (Transplant). The new season’s directors are Fab Filippo (Save Me), Joyce Wong (Wexford Plaza), and J. Stevens (Slo Pitch).

Jessica Daniel (Cardinal) is the show’s producer. Co-executive producer is Laura Perlmutter (Warigami). Baig, Filippo, Ian Iqbal Rashid (Touch of Pink), Jenn Engels (Transplant), JP Larocque (Jann), Kyah Green (Corner Gas: Animated), and Léa Geronimo Rondot wrote the series (Awake). Sally Catto is the General Manager of Entertainment, Factual, and Sports at CBC, Trish Williams is the Executive Director of Scripted Content, and Sandra Picheca is the Director of Current Production, Comedy.

Sabi’s journey is about to begin in the next season, so we must all wait with bated breath for it to begin. Our protagonist will face many challenges throughout the sitcom so we can anticipate a lot of comedy, drama, and tragedy.
