BYUtv’s Dwight in Shining Armo’r season 6 is a typical, relatively low-budget sleeping beauty story with a Gen Z twist. A thousand years ago, Gothic Princess Gretta and her many enemies and few friends were put to sleep by her court magician Baldric. This spell paused everything until a Champion could kiss the princess and fix all her problems. Dwight in Shining Armor is what happens when the Champion is not some severe and robust medieval knight but a regular Gen Z teenager who is sensitive and a health nut.
When Dwight falls into an underground chamber and accidentally kisses Gretta, every evil and sound in the woods wakes up, and Dwight becomes spellbound to protect the princess even though he doesn’t want the role. Dwight in Shining Armor follows Dwight, Gretta, her protective court magician Baldric, Baldric’s love interest and enemy-turned-ally Witch Hexela, and Gretta’s fiancé-turned-friend Chlodwig as they battle all kinds of monsters and villains to protect the throne and Woodside, Dwight’s human world.

Adams for BYUtv, a cable and satellite channel which operates as a part of Brigham Young University, Utah—its ten-episode debut season aired from March 18, 2019, to May 23, 2019. Dwight in Shining Armor season 2 also aired the same year, from September 22, 2019, to November 24, 2019. The show aired two seasons in 2020, and the fifth and final season premiered on March 21, 2021, wrapping up on May 23, 2021. All five seasons have ten half-hour episodes each.
Dwight in Shining Armor was executive-produced by LeeAnne H. Adams, Brian J. Adams, James Rutherford, Erik Christensen, and Jeffrey G. Hunt. Will there be a Dwight in Shining Armor Season 6?
Unfortunately, Dwight in Shining Armor Season 5 is the show’s last season. Before the fifth season premiered, it was already confirmed that there wouldn’t be a Dwight in Shining Armor season 6. The show wasn’t canceled; it just ended, one that takes us to the beginning as the characters realize they will have to do all of it again when a villain tries to spell the princess. I could have told them that’s how these Disney-like shows work. Villains will always return, and heroes must rise to deal with them. It’s good the producers didn’t try to prolong the show.
Where to Watch Dwight in Shining Armor
Dwight is an ordinary and sometimes cringe-worthy show, but it is surprisingly enjoyable. Dwight attempting to initiate old-school Princess Gretta into 21st-century high school made for some of the most hilarious scenes in the show. The fantasy series is rated 7.5/10 on IMDb and 5/5 on Facebook. If you are a fan of Disney fairy tales or their Nickelodeon counterpart, Dwight in Shining Armor is a must-watch for you.
